Château Poujeaux 2020 is an outstanding wine from the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation, one of the smaller but highly regarded regions on the left bank of Bordeaux. The estate, whose origins date back to the Middle Ages, is known for its consistent quality work and its ability to produce wines with strong character and longevity year after year. The 2020 vintage benefited from a balanced climate with warm days, cool nights and an ideal ripening period, resulting in excellent concentration and elegance in the grapes.The cuvée of the 2020 vintage consists predominantly of Cabernet Sauvignon (54%), supplemented by Merlot (40%) and Petit Verdot (6%). This classic Bordeaux composition reflects the terroir character of the gravelly soils in Moulis particularly well and ensures complexity and depth.In the glass, Château Poujeaux 2020 is an intense, deep ruby red. The nose reveals a multi-layered bouquet of dark berries, particularly cassis, black cherry and blackberry, accompanied by floral notes such as violets as well as cedar, tobacco, cocoa and a hint of graphite - typical of the Left Bank style.On the palate, the wine impresses with density and elegance. The tannins are finely polished, the texture silky, and yet the Poujeaux 2020 has a powerful structure. The fruit aromas are concentrated but not overripe, accompanied by fresh acidity and a beautiful mineral note. The finish is long, harmonious and shows very good ageing potential.The 2020 vintage is considered by wine critics to be one of the best in the winery's recent history. James Suckling awarded it 93 points and praised its "precise structure, purity and depth". Wine Advocate and Vinous also emphasized the balance of power, freshness and elegance. The wine is already very appealing when young, but has the potential to mature for 15 to 20 years, during which it will continue to grow in complexity.Château Poujeaux 2020 is a classic but modern Bordeaux with depth, structure and finesse. It combines the typical virtues of a Médoc wine - power, elegance and ageability - while at the same time displaying an accessible fruit and finesse that makes it very attractive even when young. The De Toren Délicate is an elegant, fresh red wine cuvée from the South African wine estate De Toren, which is known for precise, balanced wines with a clear style. The nose reveals fine aromas of roses and ripe strawberries. On the palate, the wine presents itself with a medium body, juicy fruit and very gentle, well-integrated tannins. The finish is balanced and pleasantly soft.The cuvée of Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot is carefully matured to preserve freshness and balance. The Edition Z from the South African wine estate De Toren is a cuvée or a blend, as they say in South Africa, of the Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot grape varieties. These grape varieties and types of cuvée can be found in Bordeaux, particularly on the right bank of the Gironde. De Toren Fusion V 2020

If you want to taste one of the absolute top wines from South Africa, De Toren Fusion V is a must. The V stands for the 5 Bordeaux grape varieties used in the wine. The quality is on a par with the great wines from Bordeaux.After hand-picking and selecting the grapes, a long, gentle fermentation followed. Maturation took place over a period of 12 months in 50% new and 50% second-fill barrels. Barrels of 225 liters were used. (90% French and 10% American) In the glass a clear violet with a slight sparkle. The nose is characterized by blueberry, cedar, black cherry, dark chocolate and a hint of fennel. On the palate, De Toren Fusion V offers a silky fullness with a hint of sweet fruit. The overall package of well-integrated tannins, long-lasting depth, firm structure and minerality makes this wine a top product.Pair it with grilled or roasted lamb with garlic and rosemary.

The grapes for Delheim Grand Reserve 2020 were harvested by hand in small batches, with only the best grapes being processed. The juice was fermented in a combination of open-top fermenters and vertical stainless steel tanks. After extraction, the wine matured for 18 months in 300-liter French oak barrels.The complex bouquet of this cuvée of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12.5% Cabernet Franc, 12.5% Petit Verdot and 6% Merlot is dominated by blackberries and blackcurrants, followed by notes of tobacco and tomato leaf, fresh pencil shavings and cassis. On the palate, this red wine from South Africa is elegantly balanced with flavors of dark red fruits and a soft, chalky tannic finish typical of the region.Enjoy this powerful, fruity blend from the Stellenbosch region at a drinking temperature of 16 to 18 degrees.
