This composition of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot as well as smaller proportions of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc has a complex aroma of blackberry, cherry and cassis as well as eucalyptus, licorice and notes of dark chocolate, cedar wood, fine oak wood aromas and vanilla. On the palate, the Diemersdal Private Collection is elegant and powerful, with great structure. Soft, sweetish tannins and the skillfully integrated wood note give the wine additional character.

Diemersdal Eight Rows Sauvignon Blanc

The Diemersdal Eight Rows Sauvignon Blanc comes from the Diemersdal wine estate in Durbanville. The grapes come from eight carefully selected rows of a premium vineyard, from which Thys Louw made his first own wine.The vines grow on gentle slopes with soils of decomposed granite and clay, shaped by the maritime climate of the Atlantic. Cool morning mists and fresh summer breezes ensure even ripeness and intense aromas.After being harvested by hand, the grapes are gently processed and left on the skins for 8 hours. After pressing, they are left to rest for 36 hours. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, after which the wine matures for 6 months on the fine lees to develop fullness and structure.In the glass, the white wine reveals aromas of nectarine and kiwi, supported by fine mineral notes. On the palate, it is round, balanced and fresh with lively acidity.The Diemersdal Eight Rows Sauvignon Blanc goes well with tuna, salmon or light fish dishes. Serve at 8-10 °C.

The extremely elegant style of the wine, with an overwhelming volume and maturity, makes this wine from the Stellenbosch region something very special.The nose is characterized by black berries and red fruits.
