Marcel Deiss Schoenenbourg Alsace Grand Cru 2018

Der Marcel Deiss Schoenenbourg Grand Cru d'Alsace ist ein außergewöhnlicher Wein aus der gleichnamigen Weinbergslage im Städtchen Riquewihr im Elsass. Die Weine dieser Lage sind unter Kennern weltweit bekannt. Die Lage hat eine sehr spezielle Topographie, ist nach Süden ausgerichtet, liegt an einem Taleingang mit steilem Hang und seine Geologie besteht aus Keupermergel, einer groben Mischung aus kalkhaltigem und gipshaltigem Mergel, der von Schichten aus Vogesensandstein bedeckt ist. Die Kombination aus einem leichten, luftigen, bröckeligen Oberboden auf einem fruchtbaren Substrat auf Tonbasis mit guten Wasserspeichereigenschaften erklärt die Tatsache, dass die Persönlichkeit der Schoenenbourg-Weine mehr von ihrem Heimatboden als von ihrer Sorte geprägt wird. Aufgrund der Nähe zur Vogesenverwerfung ist das Mikroklima von Schoenenbourg ziemlich kalt und spät, geeignet für eine langsame, schwierige Reifung der Trauben und die häufige Entwicklung von Edelfäule. Der Wein ist eine Mischung aus 13 verschiedenen elsässischen Rebsorten, die gemeinsam im Weinberg gepflanzt wurden. Es handelt sich hierbei also um eine sogenannte Feldmischung.Im Glas zeigt sich der Marcel Deiss Schoenenbourg in einem strahlenden Goldgelb mit funkelnden Reflexen. In der Nase dominiert ein Hauch von Pfeffer, ergänzt um leichte rauchige Aromen, die an einen Tokayer erinnern. Am Gaumen präsentiert sich dieser Schoenenbourg Grand Cru Weißwein mit einer dezenten Säure und einer üppigen, vollmundigen Struktur. Durch die lange Reifung der Trauben hat der Wein ein hohes Potenzial an Restzucker, was zu einem halbtrockenen bis milden Geschmack führt. Nach Jahren der Reifung entwickelt sich eine schöne mineralische Note. Das Weingut Marcel Deiss schafft es beeindruckende Reichhaltigkeit, Konzentration und mineralischen Ausdruck, mit einer Reinheit, die Respekt einflößt, in den Wein zu integrieren. Das zeigt sich auch im Abgang, der elegant und lang mit einer feinen Würze nachhaltig in Erinnerung bleibt.Der Marcel Deiss Schoenenbourg Grand Cru begleitet edle Speisen, wie Hummer, Laguste oder Kavair besonders gut. The Paserene Chardonnay is an expressive premium white wine from the cool Elgin growing region on the South African coast. The Paserene winery, known for its uncompromising quality standards and sustainable viticulture, brings a luxurious white wine to the glass with this Chardonnay, which masterfully combines floral freshness, fine minerality and a velvety texture.The Chardonnay grapes are carefully harvested by hand and gently pressed. After a short resting phase in stainless steel tanks, spontaneous fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, giving the wine depth and complexity. The wine is aged for 24 months, with around 30% of the barrels already used. This ensures an elegant balance between fruit, freshness and fine wood structure without overpowering the wine. The mineral-rich Ferricrete soils of Elgin and the cool climate also ensure taut acidity and great finesse.In the glass, the Chardonnay is a bright gold with greenish reflections.
