The Paul Cluver Chardonnay comes from the high-altitude Elgin Valley in South Africa - one of the country's cool-climate regions. The special location ensures that the grapes ripen slowly, resulting in a Chardonnay with depth, freshness and elegance.

Matured in used French oak barrels, this white wine combines notes of buttered toast or brioche with citrus fruits, mandarins and citrus blossom on the nose. There are also subtle, subliminal nuances of vanilla and almonds. The Paul Cluver Chardonnay is fresh and clear on the palate, with a beautiful acidity.

Discover this single-varietal Chardonnay from the Elgin growing region with fish, poultry or pork, for example. It also goes well with creamy pasta dishes and salmon. The Aaldering Chardonnay has an intense bouquet offering notes of peach, lime and mandarin. This pure varietal Chardonnay consists of three components: the juice delivered by the freshly harvested grapes before they are pressed (‘free run juice’), the part of the wine which was fermented in second-, third- and fourth-fill barrels as well as the must which was aged in stainless steel tanks, making this blend a special taste experience.The Aaldering Chardonnay has a good ageing potential of 5 to 7 years. Im Glas ein heller, lebendiger Platin-Farbton mit grüner Tönung. Komplexes Bouquet von Zitronengras, Limetten, Hafermehl, ausdrucksstarker Mineralität.Am Gaumen ist der südafrikanische Wein von mittlerem Körper, aber mit klarer Säure, Aromen von Kalk, Marzipan, cremige ausgedehnte Eichen-, Apfel- und Birnbaum-Merkmale. Durch eine reine, lineare mineralische Note ergibt sich ein sauberer und langer Abgang.Von Hand gepflückt, als gesamte Partie gepresst und sofort in 300 Liter Fässer aus französischer Eiche gefüllt. Dabei wurden 60% neue Fässer und 40% Fässer, die schon bereits einmal befüllt waren, verwendet. Die Gärung fand in Eiche statt, teils als natürliche und teils als malolaktische Gärung. Die Reifung erfolgte für 12 Monate in Eichenfässern mit gelegentlichem Rühren vor dem Abfüllen in Flaschen.Dieser Weißwein aus der Region Stellenbosch passt perfekt zu gegrilltem Fisch, weißem und rotem Fleisch.
