La Bri's cuvée The Affinity is more than the sum of its parts: The wine is only produced at all if the individual grape varieties come together in perfect harmony - which is why entire vintages (2018 and 2019) were deliberately omitted. The result: a carefully composed, richly structured Bordeaux blend that reflects South African winemaking at the highest level.Cabernet Sauvignon dominates in this powerful yet polished blend, complemented by Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The nose reveals intense aromas of ripe berries and fine mocha, while the palate is velvety smooth with fine-grained tannins and a fresh, supporting acid structure. A red wine of depth, complexity and remarkable balance.The four grape varieties were vinified separately and then matured for 18 months in French barriques, 10% of which were new. Only then were the barrels selected and the final cuvée made - a demanding, quality-oriented process that gives the wine its balance and finesse.Each La Bri cuvée is associated with a characteristic flower. In the Affinity Blend, the Geissorhiza radians - also known as the "wine calyx" - adorns the label. The strictly limited cuvée comes from a particularly characterful vineyard on the estate and is part of the "Double Door" series, which leaves room for creative, terroir-driven wines.Both the estate's own grapes and selected grapes from neighboring vineyards are used for this single-varietal Petit Verdot. The wine is vinified traditionally and matured for 24 months in French oak barrels. With the Double Door range, La Bri creates space for creative wines beyond rigid conventions - as is the case with this powerful, multi-layered red wine cuvée. The Double Door Red Blend combines 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Franc to create a harmonious whole with structure, finesse and elegance.Only grapes from the estate were used for this wine. After fermentation, the individual batches matured for 24 months in used French barriques before being blended into a precisely balanced cuvée. The longer maturation period ensures a harmonious balance between fruit, spice and velvety tannins.The La Bri Double Door Red Blend impresses with a deep dark color and aromas of blackcurrants, plums, spices and fine roasted aromas. The La Motte Millennium is a remarkable blend from the traditional La Motte Wine Estate in South Africa's Franschhoek Valley.It is intense on the nose, with aromas of cherry, mulberry and cinnamon. Due to the ageing in oak barrels, notes of caramel are also noticeable. Velvety and juicy on the palate, with pronounced aromas of berries. A medium-bodied wine full of finesse and elegance.The grapes for La Motte Millennium come from the Walker Bay, Villiersdorp, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch regions. La Sirène de Giscours Margaux is the second wine from the world-famous Château Giscours in Margaux and consists of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. A wonderful Margaux seducer that has benefited from 30% new barrels during maturation.A dark garnet red in the glass, the nose is delicately spicy, with dark berries, leading into a cedar bouquet, blackcurrants and some roasted notes. The body of this dry wine is round and deep, with spicy notes lingering on the long finish.Please decant this French red wine at least one hour before drinking! Of course, it can also be aged in the cellar for several years. The Lanzerac Jonkershoek Reserve is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Petit Verdot. The grapes for each variety used in this blend come from selected vineyards in the Jonkershoek Valley in South Africa. The grapes were harvested by hand and selected with the utmost care. Only the best grapes made it into this exceptional red wine. Fermentation and maturation took place in French oak. This expressive Cabernet-based blend is full of aromas of black cherry, chocolate, spices and a hint of cassis. On the palate, the Lanzerac Jonkershoek Reserve is juicy, supple and with silky, integrated tannins. It has a wonderfully long finish.This full-bodied wine is a perfect accompaniment to hearty dishes, oxtail, game and rack of lamb with a herb crust.

Les Forts de Latour 2011

Château Latour ranks among the most famous wine producers in the world. Its second wine Les Forts de Latour is produced with the same precision brought to bear in the grand vin. The main differences are that the Les Forts de Latour has a higher percentage of Merlot (25-30%) and it matured in oak casks, of which 50% were new barrels.The Les Forts de Latour 2011 is a deep, dense purple in the glass. Les Pagodes de Cos 2018

Les Pagodes de Cos is the second wine from the renowned Château Cos d'Estournel in Saint-Estèphe, which, together with Château Montrose, has been at the top of the appellation for years. The grapes for "The Pagodas" from Cos - and the château, which resembles an Indian temple, really does have some - come from selected plots on the estate and give the wine its own personality. This is somewhat more accessible and perhaps a little less complex than the Grand Vin, but it is a pleasure to drink with its velvety texture, freshness and beautiful fruit.54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot give the wine its attractive, mineral and rather soft character. The emphasis here is clearly more on the fruit and an earlier drinking pleasure than with its big brother, which is a marathon runner and takes a long time to reach drinking maturity.Great black berry fruit, some coffee and tobacco on the nose. Round on the palate with a very beautiful, elegant structure. The tannins are well integrated and the finish is long and lingering.
