Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019

The Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019 is a powerful, elegant red wine from one of the world's most renowned wine regions. As the flagship of the Californian winery Silver Oak, this vintage impressively reflects the special signature of the house as well as the exceptional quality of the Napa Valley. The Napa Valley, known for its variety of microclimates and soils, offers ideal conditions for the cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon. Silver Oak sources the grapes for this wine from carefully selected parcels in the valley, including its own vineyards. The 2019 vintage benefited from an even and long ripening process with mild weather - an almost ideal year for the grape harvest. The grapes were harvested precisely at the optimum time for ripening, which is reflected in the intense aromas and balance of the wine.Silver Oak has stood for an unmistakable style since its foundation: the wine, consisting of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, as well as some Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec, matures exclusively in American oak. It was then matured in the bottle for a further 15 months before being released for sale. The result is a wine of high concentration, remarkable depth and great ageing potential - at least 20 years of ageing is considered realistic for this vintage. The careful vinification and craftsmanship are reflected in the flawless structure and elegance of the wine.In the glass, the wine presents itself in a dark purple red with dense color intensity. The nose reveals complex aromas of blackcurrants, ripe cherries, blueberries and mocha, underpinned by fine roasted notes, vanilla, tobacco, nutmeg and a hint of liquorice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and polished, with silky, finely integrated tannins, lively acidity and a long, harmonious finish. The structure is powerful without being overloaded - a prime example of the balance between fruit, wood and elegance that makes Silver Oak so desirable. The Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019 is an impressive, characterful wine with depth, elegance and excellent maturity. It combines the power of Napa Valley with the refined style of Silver Oak - a wine for special occasions that will delight today as well as decades from now. Quintessa Napa Valley 2022

The Quintessa Napa Valley 2022 is a wine that is particularly defined by its terroir. The multi-layered soils of the Rutherford Bench, characterized by gravel, sand and volcanic rock, formed a vintage that is both powerful and focused. An early budbreak, a moderately temperate summer and the warm phase at the end of the season led to a slow, even development of ripeness, in which concentration and freshness found a rarely achieved balance. The selective block harvest produced grapes that bear the signature of the site with impressive clarity. On the nose, the Quintessa Napa Valley 2022 presents a precise composition of black cherry, cassis and dark wild berries, framed by notes of tobacco, bay leaf, cedar wood and dark chocolate. On the palate, it is structured yet silky, with dense fruit and a striking mineral line reminiscent of graphite, crushed rock and a hint of tar. The fine-grained tannins - a hallmark of Rutherford Bench - lend depth and elegance, while the natural acidity gives the wine length and tension.Vinification is carried out parcel by parcel in order to preserve the characteristics of each individual block. Around 20 days of maceration allow for precise extraction before the cuvée is matured for 22 months in a combination of new French oak, neutral wood and a small amount of terracotta amphorae. This finely tuned maturation gives the wine structure, complexity and an elegant, almost floating harmony. The cuvée is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Cabernet Franc, Carménère, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The Quintessa Napa Valley 2022 shows its culinary strengths in combination with fine dishes such as fillet of beef, lamb salmon, braised mushrooms or aromatic root vegetables. Fine herbal aromas and truffles are also excellent accompaniments. At a serving temperature of 16-18 °C, it shows all its finesse with clear fruit, mineral depth and a long, stylish finish.

Promontory Napa Valley 2018
