Purple Angel is a selection of our best Carmenère selected from our two Estates (50% sourced from Apalta, were its sunny vineyards give elegance to the wine and 50% from our Marchigue Estate, a coastal cool weather vineyard that produces low yields naturally and provides strength, concentration and a deep, intense carmine color to it. A fantastic wine that blends both elegance and powerPurple Angel showcases the spicy touches typical of Carmenère, with ripe, gentle and soft tannins, it’s a full bodied, concentrated wine that combines red berries and dark chocolate on the mouth with alluring cigar box, blackberries and plums aromas on the noseThe wine is blended with a touch of Petit Verdot to enhance its structure, color and cellaring potential. A mouth filling wine with a very long finish, definitely a unique Carmenère!Denomination of Origin: Purple Angel is a blend of 92% Carmenère and 8% Petit Verdot from the Colchagua Valley. Winemaking: Grapes are carefully hand picked. The clusters go through a grape by grape selection made by hand with a team of 14 people, in which only good fruit is allowed into the tank. During the 18 months of barrel aging in new French oak barrels, the wine is racked 3 times to get rid of lees, and allow some oxygen to interfere in the evolution and maturation of this wine.When the final blend is made, if the wine is totally clear, and has no microbiological pressure, there is no need for filtration or fining….so the wine goes unfiltered to the bottling process.Decant for at least an hour for better enjoyment, allowing the wine to open up.

Alejandro quickly became famous, but his pioneering work was almost as quickly forgotten. Morgenster Lourens River Valley 2020

In line with tradition, Morgenster also produces a second Bordeaux-style wine in South Africa. The Morgenster Lourens River Valley is a blend consisting of the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grape varieties, produced with the advisory assistance of Pierre Lurton from Chateau Cheval Blanc in Bordeaux. The philosophy aims at creating an accessible wine that particularly reflects the fruit aromas so typical of the terroir, and simultaneously ensuring longevity. The wine is a bright, opaque ruby-red in the glass. On the nose, it offers lovely cherry aromas, complemented by notes of strawberry tarts and cassis. After the Morgenster Lourens River Valley has breathed for a while, it shows aromas of liquorice, vanilla and spices, accompanied by fruity nuances of plums, mulberries and raspberries. The wine is silky and smooth on the palate, offering a delicious fruity sweetness. The elegant tannins develop a lovely balance between ripe berry aromas and a great freshness. Henry Kotze, cellar master at Morgenster, speaks of a worthwhile wine that gains in complexity after it is decanted.The Morgenster Lourens River Valley goes beautifully with roast duck, poultry and ostrich. It is also a perfect accompaniment to risotto with wild mushrooms or roast lamb.

The Golan Heights Winery offers the Yarden Mount Hermon Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot, a lovely wine for everyday enjoyment.The red wine from Israel has offers on the nose aromas of wild berries, plums and a fine flavor. On the palate, spicy and harmonious, the finale is delicate and elegant. A very fruity wine. The vintage benefited from the fact that there was no extreme weather. Thus the grapes were able to ripen evenly and develop their full flavor.The wine goes well with grilled meats, pasta dishes with tomato sauces or cheese variations, such as ripe Camembert.

Neethlingshof Caracal 2020

Der Neethlingshof Caracal ist ein Wein aus der Short Story Collection. Die Geschichte, die sich um diesen Wein rangt, zeigt den Einsatz des Weingutes für die Natur. Der Caracal ist ein afrikanischer Luchs (Rooikats). Die Wildkatzenart konnte durch gezielte Erhaltung und Sanierung der Lebensräume wieder auf der Farm angesiedelt werden. Jetzt wird dies durch das Label und den Namen des Weines gewürdigt. Die Farbe des Neethlingshof Caracal ist intensiv dunkelrot. In der Nase sind wunderschöne Pflaumen-, Johannisbeer- und Kirscharomen wahrnehmbar. Hinzu kommen Noten von Eichen- und Zedernholz sowie Vanilletöne. Am Gaumen zeigt sich der Wein körperreich, muskulös und weich. Die festen, aber geschmeidigen Tanninen tragen zur kräftigen Struktur bei. Der Caracal ist im Bordeaux-Stil ausgebaut und reifte für 16 Monate auf einer Kombination aus französischen und amerikanischen Holzfässern. Der trockene Rotwein passt hervorragend zu Steak, Ochsenschwanz, Beef Stroganoff, Ratatouille und gereiftem Käse.Der südafrikanische Wein ist vegan.

Opus One 2014

The Opus One of the 2013 vintage had already set standards, and that despite the fascinatingly high quality of these wines. The 97+ score awarded by Robert Parker in his Wine Advocate speaks for itself, and the 2014 vintage promises to be superlative as well. Opus One 2018

Opus One, the Californian high-flyer and joint child of wine legends Mondavi and Rothschild, is now producing an incomparable series of top vintages in succession. 2018 does not break this streak, but seamlessly continues and even surpasses some of the previous years.This is due in particular to the mild and very consistent weather conditions in 2018, which, apart from a little rain before bud break, were ideal and above all did not show the excessive heat that has often been seen in Napa Valley recently.The Opus One 2018 consists of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec and was aged for 17 months in new French oak barrels.Creamy, deep and heavenly fruity are associations that are often heard in connection with Opus One. The 2018 Opus One is no exception. The nose is black berry, cassis, lots of black cherry and blackberry, followed by elegant notes of violet, white pepper and rose petals. The seductive bouquet is supported by further aromas of black fruit, orange peel, licorice and dark chocolate. Everything is wonderfully balanced, with beautifully polished and round tannins. The finish is almost infinitely long.As is so often the case with Californians, the Opus One 2018 also manages to show a cellaring potential of several decades, but is still ready to drink very early. Der US-Rotwein, hinter dem Robert Mondavi und Baron Philippe de Rothschild sowie ihr gemeinsames Streben nach dem perfekten Wein stehen, ist im Jahrgang 2019 eine besondere Offenbarung.Die Komposition aus dem Napa Valley besteht aus 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, je 6% Petit Verdot und Cabernet Franc sowie 2% Malbec. 19 Monate reifte der Blend aus den USA in neuem französischem Barrique.
