Guado al Tasso Bolgheri DOC Superiore 2022

The Guado al Tasso is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wonderful wine comes from the Tenuta Guado al Tasso. It is located about 80 kilometres southwest of Florence, near the medieval village of Bolgheri. The grapes were aged separately in new oak barrels for 12 months. The best parts were assembled and matured for six further months in small barrels before the wine was bottled.The Merlot gives the Guado al Tasso, a subtle sweetness and density and intense aromas of dark fruit. Cabernet Sauvignon offers notes of dark fruits and licorice. Cabernet Franc finally gives harmony and balance, while Petit Verdot completes the bouquet with a hint of spice.Enjoy an elegant wine from Tuscany, for which the grapes were handpicked and processed with great meticulousness.

Hensel Ikarus red wine 2020

The Hensel Ikarus is the flagship of the Thomas Hensel winery and a prime example of the innovative strength of the Palatinate wine scene. Great wines also need great names. So the name derived from Greek mythology is a good choice for the Hensel Ikarus. The wine is only vinified in years with exceptional grapes and is made from the Cabernet Cubin grape variety. This is a new variety from 1970, which is based on a cross between the Blaufränkisch and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties. The Hensel winery in the Palatinate experimented with this grape variety at an early stage. This is why some of the vines are over 40 years old. Although this results in lower yields, the grapes are particularly powerful.The Hensel Ikarus shimmers dark in the glass and has a full berry flavor. The red wine needs some time to open up, so decanting is advisable. Once the wine has opened up, however, the palate experiences ripe berry fruit, an intense coffee note and a tasty tobacco aroma. Holden Manz Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Der Holden Manz Cabernet Sauvignon hat eine rubinrote Farbe mit scharlachrotem Rand. Er duftet intensiv nach Brombeeren, Heidelbeeren, frischen Tabakblättern und ein wenig nach Cassis. Ergänzt von schwarzem Lakritz und Zeder und Noten von verschiedenen Gewürzen. Der erste Gaumeneindruck ist reichhaltig und voll mit vielen komplexen dunklen Früchten. Im Mund zeigt der Holden Manz Cabernet Sauvignon danach eine unglaubliche Breite, Komplexität und Tiefe, was zu einem langen, vollen Abgang führt. Die feinen Tannine verbinden sich mit einer ausgewogenen Säure. Für die Reifung lagerte der Wein 22 Monate in 225-Liter-Barriques aus französischer Eiche. Dafür kamen 30% neue Fässer und 70% Fässer zweiter und dritter Füllung zum Einsatz. Speisenempfehlung: Langsam gekochter geschmorter Ochsenschwanz mit Butterbohnen oder Rosmarin-Lammkoteletts mit Frühkartoffeln.
