Erin Brooks vergibt in Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate 92 Punkte für den Pinot Noir aus dem Anbaugebiet Yamhill-Carlton District AVA. Sie schreibt: „Der 2018 Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton hat eindringliche Aromen von zerdrückten Kirschen und Blutorange mit Akzenten von Waldboden und exotischen Gewürzen.“ Im Falstaff (93 Punkte) erkennen die Weinkritiker Nuancen von schwarzen Beeren und etwas Marzipan, dazu eine feine Edelholzwürze sowie einen Hauch von Schiefer.

Am Gaumen ist der Rotwein aus Oregon trocken, mit mittlerem Körper und anregenden, gekonnt eingebundenen Tanninen. Das Aromenspiel ist faszinierend. Es vereint Noten von Granatapfel, Shiitake-Pilzen, schwarzem Pfeffer und Leder. Im Falstaff heißt es: „Saftig, gute Komplexität, süße dunkle Herzkirschen, feiner Säurebogen, salzige Mineralität, gute Länge, ein stoffiger Speisenbegleiter.“

This wine from Rombauer is a wonderful example of the qualities that a Californian Zinfandel can achieve. The dark purple-colored composition of Zinfandel and a very small proportion of Petite Sirah has a seductively intense aroma of blackberries, boysenberries, plums and cherries. Subliminal notes of vanilla and licorice as well as spicy aromas round off the exceptionally complex bouquet. On the palate, the Rombauer Zinfandel is velvety and fresh, with finely polished tannins and great length. the Zinfandel matured for 14 months in American and French oak barrels, with 10 percent new American barrels being used. The grapes come from vines in the Californian counties of El Dorado, Amador, Lake and Napa. The family is still directly involved in the production; the cellar master Charles Symington created this port himself.Graham’s The Tawny is his personal interpretation of a fine port wine aged in wooden casks. The Tawny matured for an average of 7-9 years in oak casks, and was partially blended with considerably older port wines in order to give it more complexity and character.This wine is well-balanced with the abundance of aromas of black and red fruit that wonderfully unite with notes of oranges, orange peel, cinnamon, figs, raisins and plums to create this outstanding taste experience.This amber-coloured port wine is exceptionally aromatic and full-bodied.
