Hacienda Monasterio Reserva DO

Hacienda Monasterio Reserva DO - Deep Ribera del Duero with elegance and power

The world knows a few outstanding winemakers, such as the Dane Peter Sissek. When the best terroir and a first-class oenologist come together, the result is top wines, as in the case of the Hacienda Monasterio Reserva. Peter Sissek, who became world-famous with his Pingus wine, has been working for Hacienda Monastrio since the winery started making wine. He not only shaped the work in the cellar, but also took care of the biodynamic cultivation of the grapes from the very beginning. The Hacienda Monasterio Reserva is made from 80% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo), the predominant grape variety in the Ribera del Duero, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. The red wine spends almost two years in French oak.

In the glass, the Reserva from Hacienda Monasterio presents itself in a deep dark red, tending towards violet at the edges. This red wine has an intense aroma of black fruit. Fine roasted aromas and spicy notes accompany the impression on the nose. Complexity and concentrated fruit characterize the mouthfeel. An in-depth minerality is carried by the beautifully integrated tannins. A wine full of elegance and finesse that reflects the incomparable potential of the Ribera del Duero region. You will enjoy this wine for a long time.

The Hacienda Monasterio Reserva is excellent with food. Try the red wine with braised meat, lamb, roast wild boar or mature cheese creations.

Product recommendation

Luis Canas Amaren Tempranillo Reserva Rioja DOCa
The Tempranillo grapes for the Luis Canas Amaren Reserva grow on vines that are over 60 years old. Only perfect grapes are used for the Rioja, which are selected twice. This limits production. The wine first matures for 18 months in new French oak barriques and then for a few more years in the bottle. The Spanish red wine offers aromas of black fruits and subtle notes of toffee, toast and minerals on the nose. On the palate, it is lush and elegant with notes of black fruit jam and liquorice. The finish is long and delicious. The impressive Luis Canas Amaren Tempranillo Reserva Rioja DOCa goes particularly well with game.

Be Solo DO
It is not always clear at first glance what exactly is behind a wine. This is also the case with Sei Solo. Javier Zaccagnini, former founder and owner of the famous Bodegas Aalto, founded his personal project in 2007. He bought around 3 hectares of vineyards near his favorite village of La Horra in the Ribera del Duero region. His aim was to bring the finesse and elegance of the Ribera del Duero into his wines, without the wines losing their backbone and tannin structure. Javier Zaccagnini is a lover of classical music and particularly admires Johann Sebastian Bach. He derived the name for his wines from the six sonatas for violin and obbligato harpsichord (Sei Sounate à Cembalo certato è Violino Solo).Sei Solo is a top-class Spanish red wine that is dark purple-red in the glass. The nose reveals particularly aromatic fruit notes of plum and blackberry. The wine smells of Mediterranean herbs, cocoa and subtle roasted aromas. A hint of licorice completes the whole. On the palate, Sei Solo is powerful and complex, with an exceptional freshness that you would not expect from such a wine. The balance between velvety tannins and rich fruit characterizes the mouthfeel.Elegant and full of finesse, Sei Solo pairs wonderfully with lasagne, mature cheese, lamb and braised dishes.

Bodegas Mauro VS - Vendimia Seleccionada

Thelema Rabelais
This lovely blend, consisting mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon and a smaller percentage of Petit Verdot, is redolent of delicious black berries, cherries, blueberries, coffee and cedar. It is slightly sweet and fruity on the palate, with sumptuous tannins. The wine has a fine acidity and a marvellous balance. The finish is long. The Thelema Rabelais matured for 20 months in French oak casks, using 80 percent new barrels. The Thelema wine is world-renowned, particularly for its blends based on Cabernet Sauvignon. The complex and full-bodied of Thelema Rabelais lives up to the estate’s reputation and proves that Thelema knows perfectly how to combine the old world wines’ style with the fruity intensity of the new world. This excellent red wine from South Africa is a perfect accompaniment to beef and game dishes.
