Hammeken Cellars Tosalet Priorat DOC

Priorat is Catalonia's oldest wine-growing region. It is located in the steep hills of the Serra de Montsant and offers suitable Licorella slate soil. Hammeken Cellars' wines combine the best of Spain's local grapes and traditions with "New World" winemaking style and techniques. The result is a distinctive collection of wines: modern, fruity, fresh and easy to understand, like the Hammeken Tosalet Priorat DOC. It is remarkable that the vines are up to 50 years old.

The dry red wine has a clear, deep purple color. The nose is enveloped in pure and very intense aromas reminiscent of red berries such as cranberries, red cherries and raspberries, combined with mineral notes of flint and a hint of eucalyptus. On the palate, the wine is dry, full-bodied, with rich, concentrated, juicy fruit, firm but ripe tannins and a refreshing acidity that make it a great food wine.

Enjoy this wonderful Spanish red wine with meat dishes or mature cheese.

Bodegas Mas Alta Els Pics Priorat DOCa
Els Pics Priorat can probably be described as an entry-level wine into the world of Bodegas Mas Alta. However, anyone who can boast such qualities as an introduction to the wine world of Bodegas Mas Alta will leave connoisseurs amazed at what is yet to come. The highly talented French winemakers Philippe Cambie and Michel Tardieu, who are behind Els Pics Priorat, have created a cuvée that leaves little to be desired. 91 points from Guía Peñín, Spain's most important wine guide, and 90 points in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate speak for themselves. The Spanish red wine from the slate-dominated Priorat region has a seductive aroma of red (raspberries) and, over time, increasingly black berries and figs. This bouquet is enriched by a pleasant spiciness (Mediterranean herbs) and nuances of cocoa and buttered toast. There is also a minerality characterized by slate. On the palate, the impenetrable ruby red Bodegas Mas Alta Els Pics is dry and balanced with an impressive emphasis on fruit. Ripe cherries, nuances of vanilla and the wonderfully integrated wood notes create an enjoyable interplay that is perfectly rounded off by an underlying minerality. "Powerful (15% alcohol) with moderate and integrated oak and a fruit-driven personality, accessible and easy to drink with its powerful personality", says Luis Gutiérrez in the Wine Advocate.Enjoy this Spanish cuvée from Priorat in the north-west of the country at a drinking temperature of 15 to 17 degrees, or slightly chilled at 13 to 15 degrees in summer. Creencia con Actitud Monastrell DOP
If there is one region in particular that stands for the Monastrell grape variety, it is the Jumilla region in south-eastern Spain, west of Alicante and north of Murcia. The vines for the red wine Creencia con Actitud, literally translated as "faith with attitude", grow here at around 900 meters above sea level. The 100% Monastrell reflects the character of this region and the terroir in a wonderfully authentic way. The vines are grown without artificial irrigation, which produces high-quality grapes but keeps the quantity low. This is partly due to the age of the vines, which have been in service for more than 45 years. The Creencia con Actitud has a deep dark red color. The dry red wine has an intense aroma of ripe black fruit and delicate wood notes. This is accompanied by notes of roasted almonds, toasted bread and a hint of cigar box. The palate is enveloped by ripe, velvety tannins. A wine that is full-bodied and fresh at the same time, elegant and balanced despite its weight. Complemented by a fine minerality, the long finish brings out notes of licorice and aromatic herbs.Try Creencia con Actitud with hearty meat dishes or spicy Indian cuisine. Also a delight on its own on a cold winter evening.
