Le Moulin Rose de Malescasse is the second wine of Château Malescasse in the Haut-Médoc. Named after the estate’s historic windmill, the grapes for this cuvée come from plots in its immediate vicinity. The blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot gives the wine a balanced and elegant style typical of the Médoc. Its silky texture makes it pleasantly approachable even in its youth.The blend consists of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45.5% Merlot, and 5.5% Petit Verdot. After destemming, the grapes are selected by hand and vinified by plot in small wooden and concrete tanks. No pre-crushing is performed. The maceration period lasts up to four weeks, during which the tannins are gently extracted by carefully punching down the cap and performing brief pump-overs. The wine is then aged for twelve months, primarily in one- and two-year-old oak barrels, with one-third aged in large wooden tanks.On the nose, the wine displays intense aromas of elderberries, black currants, blackberries, and fresh blue raspberries, accompanied by a subtle, gently integrated woody note. On the palate, it is lively and elegant, with fine tannins, good structure, and a long finish.Le Moulin Rose de Malescasse pairs excellently with grilled or pan-seared beef, lamb, and game dishes. It is also a harmonious accompaniment to braised meats or aged hard cheeses.

Le Petit Haut Lafitte Rouge 2019

Dass kleine Brüder aber auch nicht ohne sein können, zeigt der 2015er Petit Haut Lafitte, der aus jüngeren Reben des Gutes gewonnen wird, aber mit der selben Hingabe im Weinkeller hergestellt wird. Der Wein reift für 14 Monate in 20% neuen Eichenfässern, die in der eigenen Küferei gefertigt werden.Der Petit Haut Lafitte 2015 ist von dunkler und intensiv-roter Farbe. Die Nase zeigt einen eleganten Mix aus roten und dunklen Früchten, Kirsche, Himbeere, Johannisbeere und etwas Kräuternoten. Am Gaumen sehr füllig und konzentriert mit schönen, geschliffenen Tanninen. Les Pagodes de Cos is the second wine from the renowned Château Cos d'Estournel in Saint-Estèphe, which, together with Château Montrose, has been at the top of the appellation for years. The grapes for "The Pagodas" from Cos - and the château, which resembles an Indian temple, really does have some - come from selected plots on the estate and give the wine its own personality. This is somewhat more accessible and perhaps a little less complex than the Grand Vin, but it is a pleasure to drink with its velvety texture, freshness and beautiful fruit.54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot give the wine its attractive, mineral and rather soft character.
