Der Jaffelin Beaujolais Villages AOC ist ein Produkt einer langen Jaffelins Geschichte, die unzertrennlich ist von der Geschichte der Kirche Notre Dame in Beaune. Jahrhunderte lang wurde Wein von Stiftskirchen und Kardinälen in deren Weinkellern gelagert. Auch heute noch verbleiben die Jaffelin Weine in der klösterlichen Ruhe der Weinkeller wie vor 800 Jahren.Der Beaujolais wird aus der Rebsorte Gamay gewonnen. Die Trauben werden nach der klassischen Methode Macération carbonique vergoren, wodurch das aromatische Potenzial der Gamaytraube voll entfaltet wird. Der Wein ist leuchtend rubinrot mit ausgewogener Säure und hat ein lebhaftes frisches Aroma. Der Jaffelin Beaujolais Villages AOC ist ein herrlicher Wein mit wenig Tanninen, einem leichten Körper und mittlerem Nachhall. Die empfohlene Trinktemperatur liegt bei 13-15°. Dieser Beaujolais passt ausgezeichnet zu Pasta oder Pizzagerichten.

The l'Hospitalet de Gazin Pomerol comes from the famous Château Gazin, a neighbor of Pétrus from the Pomerol appellation on the right bank of Bordeaux.The l'Hospitalet de Gazin Pomerol 2021 is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Its grapes were hand-picked and the wine matured for 18 months in oak barrels.What we particularly like about l'Hospitalet is that this wine has great ageing potential, but can also be a lot of fun to drink in its youth after at least an hour of decanting.The l'Hospitalet de Gazin is very well balanced and harmonious. It shows multi-layered aromas, including plums, tobacco, lots of blackberry, blackcurrant, some leather and chocolate; the tannins are present, but already have an excellent smoothness. The finish is long and spicy.Excellent for food pairing with braised and grilled meats, entrecôte, steak and, of course, as a solo wine.

La Demoiselle de Sociando-Mallet from the outstanding 2022 vintage is the second wine of the historic Château Sociando-Mallet estate and comes from the renowned Haut-Médoc appellation on the left bank of the Gironde in Bordeaux. The 2022 vintage is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines grow on the gravelly and clay soils typical of the Médoc, with a limestone subsoil that lends the wines both power and freshness. As a second wine, vinified from younger vines, La Demoiselle offers a more approachable style than the estate’s Grand Vin, yet retains the characteristic expression and quality of this renowned estate.In the glass, the wine displays a deep ruby red color. The bouquet is characterized by intense aromas of black currants, elderberries, and ripe cherries, complemented by subtle notes of cinnamon, white pepper, roasted coffee, and a hint of menthol. On the palate, it is juicy, harmonious, and well-balanced, with ripe fruit, a smooth texture, and well-integrated tannins. The predominance of Merlot lends it fullness and charm, while the Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure, freshness, and length. La Sirène de Giscours Margaux is the second wine from the world-famous Château Giscours in Margaux and consists of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. A wonderful Margaux seducer that has benefited from 30% new barrels during maturation.A dark garnet red in the glass, the nose is delicately spicy, with dark berries, leading into a cedar bouquet, blackcurrants and some roasted notes. The body of this dry wine is round and deep, with spicy notes lingering on the long finish.Please decant this French red wine at least one hour before drinking! Of course, it can also be aged in the cellar for several years. It is a wonderful accompaniment to poultry dishes, game and mature cheeses.The ratings speak for themselves: James Suckling: 92-93, Neal Martin 89-91, Robert Parker says it is the best Sirène de Giscours ever.

Die Trauben für den reinsortigen Pinot Noir aus Südfrankreich gedeihen in Weinbergen an den Ausläufern der kühleren Pyrenäen und Cevennen auf Böden aus Kalkstein. Um die frischen Fruchtnoten im Wein zu erhalten, fängt die Weinbereitung mit zwei Tagen Kaltmazeration an. Es folgt eine weitere Gärung von zwei Wochen. Anschließend reift der La Villette Pinot Noir VdF für sechs Monate in französischer Eiche. In der Nase beeindruckt der Rotwein mit erfrischenden und subtilen Aromen von reifen Himbeeren und Preiselbeeren mit Noten von Pflaume und Toast. Am Gaumen zeigt der Pinot Noir eine schöne Balance von reifen Früchten und Frische mit einem ansprechenden würzigen Raucharoma.

Der Le B par Maucaillou 2020 ist der Bordeaux Supérieur vom berühmten Château Maucaillou aus der renommierten Appellation Moulis. Maucaillou heißt übersetzt so viel wie schlechte Steine, was aus dem Kontext der Zeit der Namensgebung des Weinguts darauf hindeutet, dass der Boden aufgrund der dortigen großen Kiesel nicht für eine normale Landwirtschaft taugte. Die Kehrseite der Medaille war aber, dass das Terroir ideal für den Weinbau ist und Maucaillou seither fantastische Rebsäfte produziert, die in großen Jahrgängen, wie 2020, richtige Trouvaillen sind.Le B spiegelt die Frucht seines großen Bruders, dem Grand Vin, wieder und ist ein absoluter gute Laune-Knaller. Selten hat uns ein junger Bordeaux-Wein - mit einem solchen Preis-Leistungsverhältnis - direkt aus der Flasche heraus mit seinem Charme und seiner vollen und frischen Frucht begeistert. Wir hatten fast den Eindruck, einen guten Kalifornier vor uns stehen zu haben, so opulent verführte uns das tiefe Himbeerbukett dieses Weins.Pascal und Magalie Dourthe, die Eigentümer von Château Maucaillou bezeichnen diesen Rebsaft, der zur vollen roten Frucht auch noch schöne Röstnoten, Mokka und Gewürznoten präsentiert, als den perfekten Einstieg in das Universum dieses Weinguts. Dem kann man nur zustimmen.
