Dornier Siren Syrah 2019

The Dornier Sirene Syrah is a red wine full of character from the Stellenbosch wine region in South Africa. It combines the special terroir conditions of the Simonsberg with traditional craftsmanship to create an elegant yet powerful wine that delights Syrah lovers with its intense fruit and complex aromas.The vines for this wine thrive on the slopes of the Simonsberg on deep red soils. The north-eastern exposure and proximity to the mountain ensure that the first rays of sunshine reach the vineyard later in the morning, while cool south-easterly winds in the summer months keep the vines healthy. This combination of climate and soil creates ideal conditions for slow, even ripening of the grapes.The grapes are fermented in open stainless steel tanks, with pumping over twice a day to ensure optimal extraction of fruit aromas and tannins. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation before maturing for 15 months in second and third passage French oak barrels. This gentle ageing process preserves the fine fruit aromas and gives the wine its elegant structure.In the glass, the Dornier Sirene Syrah has a deep, dark red color and an intense bouquet of ripe dark berries, accompanied by spicy notes and a hint of violets. On the palate, it impresses with a harmonious balance of velvety tannins, concentrated fruit and a long, elegant finish.This Syrah is an excellent accompaniment to spicy grilled meat, lamb dishes and game as well as hearty stews.

Der El Ego Bodegas Goru DOP duftet intensiv nach reifen roten Früchten. Noten von Pflaumenkompott und Blaubeermuffins sowie feine Nuancen von Nussschokolade und dezentes Süßholz prägen das Bouquet. El Nido La Viña del Corteo is one of the rarest and most impressive interpretations of Syrah in Spain. The wine comes from a small vineyard of just 1.8 hectares, which Chris Ringland had planted with Australian Syrah seedlings in 1998 - a project close to his heart within the El Nido portfolio. The vines grow at an altitude of around 700 meters, facing north/northeast, in order to preserve the natural freshness of the Syrah even in Jumilla's warm climate. Due to strict selection and the extremely limited vineyard area, production is only around 1,500 bottles per vintage.In the glass, La Viña del Corteo 2022 has a deep purple, dense color and is immediately lush and seductive. The bouquet opens with black fruits, black olives, spice and smoky roasted notes reminiscent of the concentrated style of warm Syrah regions. With a little air, black cherries, ripe blackberries and blackcurrants unfold, accompanied by a fine chocolaty nuance. On the palate, the wine is intense, complex and powerful, yet silky in structure.
