Der Blend aus 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Cabernet Franc, 18% Merlot und 3% Petit Verdot duftet nach roten und dunklen Früchten (Johannisbeeren), erdigen Noten sowie nach Fynbos, den für Südafrika typischen Gewächsen. Weinkritiker Greg de Bruyn beschreibt das Bouquet in Platter’s Wine Guide so: „Waldboden-Erdigkeit, jodhaltige Mineralität und saftige Cassis-Frucht, durchzogen von Tabakwürze.“Am Gaumen ist der Rotwein aus der Stellenbosch-Region trocken und vielschichtig, mit großer Konzentration und Frische. Die schöne Mineralität und die aromatische Tiefe (dunkle Beeren im Vordergrund) runden das Geschmackserlebnis ab. „Geschmeidig und rund nach 18 Monaten in größtenteils neuem Eichenholz“, urteilt auch de Bruyn. Der warme Jahrgang 2018 brachte Trauben mit sehr konzentrierten Aromen hervor. Durch den anderthalbjährigen Ausbau in Eichenholzfässern, die zu 70% neu waren, erreicht der Alto Estate Blend dann endgültig seine außergewöhnliche Qualität.Entdecken Sie den Rotwein bei einer Trinktemperatur von 16 bis 18 Grad. Alto Rouge 2020

The Alto Rouge consists of 5 grape varieties: Cabernet Franc, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The grapes for this wine come from north- and northwest-facing vineyards located on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains. Thus, the vines are cooled by a fresh breeze in the afternoon, supporting the wine’s elegance and balance. The Alto Rouge is a deep ruby-red in the glass. On the nose, aromas of red fruit are predominant, along with hints of chocolate and light notes of woodchips. This cuvée is distinguished by its soft tannins and wonderful fruit aromas. Overall, this is a wine with style, lots of complexity and a high ageing potential. Winemaker Bertho van de Westhuizen recommends enjoying the Alto Rouge with game birds and tender red meat.

From the flagship range of Anthonij Rupert from Franschhoek in South Africa, we present the Optima. A cuvée made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Aslina Umsasane Red Blend 2022

The Umsasane from Aslina Wines combines the characterful craftsmanship of the boutique winery Aslina Wines with the power and elegance of classic South African red wines. Made from 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc and 12% Petit Verdot, the grapes were harvested by hand at optimum ripeness. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in barrels and then matured for 16 months in French oak barrels, 15% of which were new barrels, before being bottled.In the glass, the Umsasane has a deep red, intense color and seduces the nose with complex aromas of black cherries, apricot jam, lavender and fine herbal notes. On the palate, this red wine is elegant and multi-layered, with hints of green bell pepper, vanilla and a harmonious combination of fruit and earth. The supple tannins and balanced structure make it enjoyable now and at the same time open up potential for further ageing.Enjoy Aslina Umsasane at 16-18 °C with hearty red meat dishes such as lamb, beef or game, braised meat or rich stews. The Babylonstoren Babel Red Blend is a red wine from South Africa, which is primarily characterized by the Shiraz (Syrah) grape variety with almost 50%. The high-quality blend, matured in French oak, is completed by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Pinotage.The intense, complex bouquet of the ruby red wine combines notes of cherries, blackberries, mulberries and plums. This fruitiness harmonizes wonderfully with notes of vanilla, dark chocolate as well as lingering oak notes. Rudman recognizes "dark fruits, tobacco and hearty spices".On the palate, the Babylonstoren Babel Red Blend is dry and masterfully balanced. The blend has a full body, pleasantly soft tannins and a dense structure. The aroma is characterized by juicy, black fruits, which harmonize wonderfully with aromas of tobacco and graphite. The finish lingers for a long time.This red wine from Babylonstoren - located between Paarl and Stellenbosch, around 50 kilometers east of Cape Town - was aged for a year in 300-litre French oak barrels.
