Vergelegen Mill Race Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

The Vergelegen Mill Race is an elegant cuvée from South Africa that reflects the expertise of the traditional Vergelegen winery. The combination of mainly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with small proportions of Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot ensures a harmonious balance between structure, fruit and soft tannins.

Intense aromas of dark berries, ripe plums and blackcurrants unfold on the nose, accompanied by spicy notes such as cedar wood, tobacco and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, the red wine is powerful yet supple and velvety, with well-integrated tannins that ensure a long, soft finish. The wine is matured in French oak barrels, most of which are used, which gives the wine additional depth and complexity without masking the fruit.

The Vergelegen Mill Race is an excellent accompaniment to a creamy risotto or a pepper steak. An expressive, accessible red wine with classic elegance.
