Kanonkop Kadette Cape Blend

The Kanonkop Kadette Cape Blend is the popular entry-level cuvée from the renowned Kanonkop winery in Stellenbosch. This South African red wine blend of Pinotage, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot combines juicy fruit with subtle spice and a harmonious structure.

After fermentation in open concrete tanks, the wine ages for twelve months in used French oak barrels. The result is a well-balanced red wine that retains its fruit and freshness while offering a pleasing depth.

In the glass, the Kanonkop Kadette Cape Blend displays a deep ruby red color. The bouquet is characterized by aromas of black currants, raspberries, cherries, and dark plums, accompanied by spicy notes of cinnamon, allspice, and a hint of chocolate. On the palate, the wine is lively and fresh, with juicy berry flavors, fine tannins, and a pleasantly long finish.

This versatile red wine pairs excellently with pizza, pasta, grilled meats, roast chicken, beef or lamb burgers, and hearty stews. It best reveals its aromas when served at a temperature of 16 to 18 °C.

Kanonkop Estate

Kanonkop Kadette Cabernet Sauvignon
The latest addition to the Kanonkop family is the Kadette Cabernet Sauvignon. The South African winery is thus adding a single-varietal red wine to its portfolio. The Kadette Cape Blend is already a classic and, in our view, the Kadette Cabernet Sauvignon could also develop into one.The bouquet of the Kanonkop Kadette Cabernet Sauvignon is characterized by opulent aromas of dark plum, black cherry and juicy blackcurrant. On the palate, the wine is complex with a subtle oak spice. Finely structured tannins provide a stable framework and support the lush fruit notes. In summary, the Kadette Cabernet Sauvignon can be described as a juicy, spicy red wine with a long finish. Once again it shows that the Stellenbosch region produces great Cabernets.Try this price-pleasing wine with all kinds of steaks, beef stew, game dishes or a mature cheddar cheese.

Beyerskloof Synergy Cape Blend
The Beyerskloof Synergy is a Cape blend like no other. As one of the first of its kind in South Africa, it combines the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon with the fruitiness of Pinotage and the softness of Merlot. A small proportion of Shiraz gives the red wine its spice and minerality. The wine matured for 14 months in first (10%), second and third fill French oak barrels. The color of the Beyerskloof Synergy Cape Blend is dark red and slightly shiny ruby red at the edges. The bouquet is almost effervescently intense of black fruits. The mouthfeel is juicy, soft and full-bodied. It is reminiscent of sweet cedar wood aromas, cherry and lots of black fruit. The wonderfully integrated tannins beautifully support the balance and complexity of the Synergy Cape blend. The aftertaste is pleasantly soft and well-rounded.Try this Cape Blend with game dishes, oxtail or leg of lamb.

Barista Pinotage
A South African taste experience of intense, rich coffee and chocolate aromas with nuances of ripe mulberries, plums and cherries. This dry red wine is also the perfect accompaniment to food. It pairs very well with dark meat, creamy casseroles and even intense desserts. Also a great accompaniment to blue cheese or Belgian chocolate. Vinified ready to drink from the start for immediate enjoyment. We recommend 18 °C as the ideal drinking temperature. The Barista Pinotage from the Val De Vie vineyard is made from 100% Pinotage grapes from the Robertson region. The grapes were picked at optimum ripeness in mid-February and divided into different batches and treated in different ways.Certain batches were treated by short heating to optimize color and then returned to the skins for alcoholic fermentation. Other batches were pasteurized and immediately fermented on oak to achieve the dark, rich coffee flavors. Still other batches were fermented conventionally on the skins and pumped over several times during alcoholic fermentation and racked into French oak to complete fermentation. All batches were stabilized by malolactic fermentation in French oak.
