Der Vilafonté Series M 2021 ist eine kraftvolle und zugleich elegante Cuvée, geprägt von Merlot und Malbec, die diesem Wein seine dichte Struktur und aromatische Tiefe verleihen. Im Glas zeigt er sich in einem nahezu undurchdringlichen Purpur-Schwarz mit kaum sichtbaren Farbnuancen zum Rand hin und beeindruckt bereits optisch durch seine Intensität.Der Ausbau erfolgt über 22 Monate in französischen Barriques, davon neues Holz, während der restliche Anteil in gebrauchten Fässern reift. Die Cuvée setzt sich aus Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon und Cabernet Franc zusammen und vereint damit Kraft, Struktur und aromatische Komplexität.In der Nase entfaltet der Wein vielschichtige und exotische Aromen, beginnend mit würzigen Noten von Charcuterie und süßen Backgewürzen, gefolgt von floralen und zitrischen Nuancen wie Bergamotte und Jasmintee. Dazu gesellen sich klare Fruchtaromen von reifer Maulbeere, Brombeere und roten Johannisbeeren, ergänzt durch Anklänge von Sternanis, getrockneter Mandarinenschale und eine feine, leicht eisenhaltige Note. Am Gaumen präsentiert sich der Series M rund und lang mit einer Textur, die an zerstoßenen Samt erinnert. Die Struktur ist kraftvoll, zugleich präzise und geschmeidig, mit einer mundfüllenden, eleganten Dichte. Umami-Anklänge erinnern an Parmaschinken und verbinden sich mit einer feinen salzigen Mineralität zu einem intensiven, fruchtbetonten Finale.Der Jahrgang 2021 zeichnet sich durch kühle und ausgeglichene Wachstumsbedingungen mit ausreichender Wasserversorgung aus, was zu Trauben mit intensiver Farbe, frischer Aromatik und klarer Tanninstruktur führte.
