The Warwick Professor Black Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine aged in stainless steel tanks. The grapes come from two different plots located on the heights of the Simonsberg in Stellenbosch. One was planted in 1985, the other in 2003. The diverse harvest adds complexity, different flavors and structure to the wine. The grapes are harvested by hand in the early morning and immediately transported to the cellar. Before pressing, the mash remains on the skins for 6-12 hours. Then the aromatic Sauvignon Blanc is fermented cold in stainless steel tanks. The 100 days of aging on the fine lees gives the Sauvignon melt.Produced in limited quantities, the Warwick Professor Black Sauvignon Blanc displays typical aromas of elderflower, nettle, passion fruit and lime. Lively and zesty on the palate with an abundance of passion fruit and lemon with a fresh lingering acidity.The name is a tribute to "Professor Black", a researcher who grew South Africa's first peaches on Simonsberg.Enjoy this wonderful wine simply solo or serve it with fresh oysters, salad with goat cheese or grilled trout.

Zum Teil sind in dem Weißwein Trauben von Reben verarbeitet, die 1966 angepflanzt wurden, also vor mehr als 50 Jahren. (Die zweite Lage wurde 1978 angepflanzt) Eine faszinierende aromatische Konzentration zeichnet diesen Weißwein aus der Stellenbosch-Region aus. Wenn Sie so wollen: Mit dem Alter lernt man immer mehr, sich auf die entscheidenden Dinge zu konzentrieren. Intensiv fruchtige Noten von Birne, Grapefruit und Pfirsich prägen das Bouquet. Harmonische Noten von Honig und florale Töne vervollständigen den Duftstrauß. Am Gaumen ist der Waterford Old Vine Chenin Blanc 2020 trocken, vielschichtig und angenehm weich, mit einer anregenden Mineralität und aromatischen Tiefe. Das Finale ist herrlich frisch-fruchtig. Der in einem sanften Grüngelb schimmernde Chenin Blanc aus dem Blaauwklippen-Tal wurde größtenteils im Betonei ausgebaut und zu einem sehr kleinen Anteil in alten Eichenfässern. Meryl Weaver vergibt für den Waterford Old Vine Chenin Blanc 2020 in John Platter’s Wine Guide 91 Punkte (4,5 von 5 Sternen). Ihr Gesamturteil: „Reife Birne & Steinobst mit weicher, cremiger Textur aus zwei alten Weinbergen (1966 & 1978). Fermentiert/gereift in Beton-Ei & 15 % in alter Eiche, wodurch weiche Früchte im sanfteren, runderen Jahr 2020 erstrahlen.“

The Waterkloof Circle of Life White consists of more than 50% Sauvignon Blanc, one third Chenin Blanc and small percentages of Chardonnay and Semillon. This white wine from South Africa has a wonderfully fresh bouquet hinting of lime, grapefruit and peach. On the palate, this blend is clear and fresh, with a certain creaminess, a lovely acidity and a mineral core. Its stimulating finish is characterised by citrus notes.The Waterkloof estate, located near False Bay, has dedicated itself to producing organic wines for several years. In the beginning, there was criticism of the fact that the quality of the wines was affected by natural viticulture. This is certainly no longer the case. This Chenin Blanc from Waterkloof has a wonderfully fresh aroma of green apple, stone fruit and subtle nuances of honey and almond-marzipan cream. On the palate, the Waterkloof Circumstance Chenin Blanc is full and fresh, with a beautiful, mild acidity. The elegant finish lingers for a long time. The white wine from vineyards not far from False Bay is the perfect accompaniment to a simple cheese platter. The straw-yellow Chenin, produced in natural viticulture, comes from bush vines, i.e. vines without wire frame training. This is also characteristic of Waterkloof's philosophy. The winery intervenes only minimally in nature in order to create wines that authentically convey the terroir of South Africa.
