A wonderful Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa from the Stellenrust winery. Many things come together here to give this white wine from the Western Cape region its exceptional quality.The grapes for the Stellenrust Sauvignon Blanc come from bush vines that are around 40 years old. In addition, the grapes are harvested in three stages, depending on the degree of ripeness. One third is harvested at 74° Oechsle. These grapes give the white wine greener, fresher notes. The second and third third are harvested at 82° and 92° Oechsle respectively. They give the Sauvignon Blanc its tropical aromas. The three harvests are fermented separately.Accordingly, the Stellenrust Sauvignon Blanc has a great bouquet that is both fruity and herbaceous. Notes of elderflower as well as pineapple, guava, passion fruit and grapefruit characterize the bouquet. It also has crisp, green aromas.On the palate, this Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa has a crisp acidity with a mineral core. Fresh, zesty and balanced. With a good body and good length. Der Name „White Mischief“ (weißer Unfug) leitet sich buchstäblich von den Winzern ab, die mit den 6 verschiedenen Rebsorten, aus der der Wein vinifiziert wurde, experimentierten und diese einzigartige Weißweinmischung kreierten. Die Bestandteile dieser Mischung können von Jahrgang zu Jahrgang leicht variieren, aber der gleiche schelmische Stil bleibt erhalten.Im Glas zeigt sich der White Mischief in einem klaren, hellen Strohgelb. Warwick Professor Black Sauvignon Blanc 2025

Warwick Professor Black Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine aged in stainless steel tanks. The grapes come from two different plots located in the higher elevations of Simonsberg in Stellenbosch. One was planted in 1985, the other in 2003. The diverse harvest lends the wine complexity, a variety of aromas, and structure. The grapes are harvested by hand early in the morning and transported immediately to the winery. Before pressing, the must remains in contact with the skins for 6–12 hours. The aromatic Sauvignon Blanc is then cold-fermented in stainless steel tanks. The 100-day aging on the fine lees gives the Sauvignon Blanc smoothness and body.Produced in limited quantities, the Warwick Professor Black Sauvignon Blanc displays typical aromas of elderflower, stinging nettle, passion fruit, and lime. On the palate, it is lively and zesty, with an abundance of passion fruit and lemon and a fresh, lingering acidity.The name pays homage to “Professor Black,” a researcher who cultivated South Africa’s first peaches on Simonsberg.Enjoy this wonderful wine on its own or serve it with fresh oysters, a salad with goat cheese, or grilled trout.

The Waterkloof Circle of Life White consists of more than 50% Sauvignon Blanc, one third Chenin Blanc and small percentages of Chardonnay and Semillon.
