‘The Uprising’ is a wine that was aged for 30 days in rum barrels and is a tribute to Australia’s Rum Rebellion of 1808. As the rum trade was hindered by the government at that time, citizens and soldiers joined together to bring down the government. The ageing in rum barrels gives this wine its dark, jammy body and a finish characterised by notes of warm brown sugar.The grapes for the 19 Crimes ‘The Uprising’ come from selected vineyards that are renowned for their spice and concentration, giving the wine its great intensity and sensational flavour. In the 2019 vintage, the Shiraz grape variety is predominant, giving the wine light notes of raspberries and a fine tannin structure. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes produce lovely blackberry aromas and ensure fullness and structure on the palate. The ‘The Uprising’ is rounded off by a smaller percentage of Grenache, giving the wine its spice and sweet fruitiness. On the nose, the wine offers intense notes of mocha, caramel and baking flavours.Like all wines of the 19 crimes line, ‘The Uprising’ has a history of its own:The man depicted on the label was a member of the Fenian brotherhood from Skibbereen in Ireland who played a major role in the Fenian movement right from the beginning. In 1864, he was arrested, found guilty, sentenced to ten years in prison and deported to Australia.

Le Rosé par Paul Mas IGP

The grapes for Le Rosé par Paul Mas grow on a soil of clay and limestone. They are harvested by machine at night. In order to preserve the fruity aroma of the grapes, fermentation takes place in barrels at a controlled temperature after destemming and pressing at 5 degrees. After maturing on the lees for three months, the salmon-colored wine is bottled.The expressive rosé wine smells of red fruits, especially raspberries. Barbadillo Mil Pesetas Amontillado Sherry is a classic amontillado sherry from the traditional Barbadillo bodega in Jerez-de-la-Frontera in Andalusia (Spain). It combines the freshness of an organically matured fino with the complexity of an oxidatively matured sherry and displays an impressive spectrum of aromas and harmonious balance.Like a fino, the wine begins its development under a layer of flor yeast in the traditional solera and cridera system. After biological maturation, the protection provided by the flor is deliberately ended and the wine continues its maturation by oxidation. This double process results in an Amontillado that displays both fresh, yeasty-bready notes and nutty, spicy depth.In the glass, the Mil Pesetas Amontillado has a warm golden hue with amber reflections. The nose reveals elegant notes of roasted almonds, hazelnut and honey, complemented by hints of dried fruit, caramel and fine spicy minerality. On the palate, it is dry, round and harmonious with a lively acidity and a pleasant depth that is supported by nutty and slightly salty nuances. The finish is long, balanced and pleasantly complex.Served at 10-12 °C, this sherry is an excellent accompaniment to tapas with nuts, Jamón Ibérico, mature cheeses, mushroom dishes or roasted poultry.
