Thelema Merlot 2021

The Thelema Merlot is an elegant, full-bodied red wine from the renowned vineyards of South Africa.It embodies a remarkable balance between gentle elegance and lively fruitiness. Ripe red cherries and juicy plums dominate the aroma and make for a seductive start that promises a tasty experience. The palate is round and harmonious, with a lingering, graceful finish that impressively underlines the finesse of the wine.During vinification, the grapes are carefully destemmed to preserve as many whole berries as possible. After fermentation in steel tanks, the wine is drawn off, transferred to storage tanks and placed in French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation. The Thelema Merlot is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 25% of which are new barrels and the rest in older barrels, which adds depth, complexity and subtle spice.This Merlot is an excellent accompaniment to grilled meat, game, hearty stews or mature cheese. It is best enjoyed at a drinking temperature of 16-18 °C to experience the full spectrum of aromas.

The Thénard Corton Grand Cru Clos du Roi is redolent of strawberries and wild berries, along with elegantly spicy aromas, nuances of forest floor and a lovely minerality as well. The Corton vineyard, a Grand Cru site located on the Côte d’Or in Burgundy, is one of the exceptional vineyards owned by the winery.
