Der Thelema Mountain Red ist eine Komposition aus Shiraz, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon und Grenache. Dieser fruchtbetonte und zugleich komplexe Rotwein aus Südafrika ist wunderbar zugänglich. Die einzelnen Rebsorten reiften 18 Monate in Eichenfässern zweiter, dritter und vierter Füllung. 

Freuen Sie sich auf einen Wein aus der Stellenbosch-Region, bei dem sich die Aromen von schwarzem Pfeffer und Maulbeere wunderbar mit Noten von Pflaume zu einem geschmeidigen Geschmackserlebnis vereinen.

Thelema Mountain Vineyards liegt hoch am Helshoogte Pass des Simonsbergs im weltberühmten Weinbaugebiet Stellenbosch in Südafrika.

Gyles Webb, eigentlich Buchhalter von Beruf, kaufte zusammen mit seiner Frau die ursprüngliche Obstfarm 1983 und begann in der Zeit Weinbau in Stellenbosch zu studieren. Der Erfolg ließ nicht lange auf sich warten, bereits Mitte der 90er Jahre waren seine Weine weit bekannt und er gewann zahlreiche Preise und Auszeichnungen.

Bei Thelema Mountain Vineyards sind rote Weine mit Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot sowie Shiraz und Cabernet Franc vorherrschend. Weißweine der Spitzenklasse von den Sorten Sauvignon Blanc und Chardonnay gehören allerdings auch zum Repertoire.

Barbara und Gyles Webb leiten heute das Unternehmen Thelema Mountain Vineyards. Zum Unternehmen gehört seit 2002 auch ein zweiter Weinberg im Elgin Valley, wo die Marke Sutherland Vineyards produziert wird.

Der Warwick First Lady Cabernet Sauvignon hat eine tiefe rote Farbe. Im Bouquet rote Beeren sowie schwarze Johannisbeeren mit einem Hauch von Kräutern, ergänzt mit Vanille und Schokolade. Der Wein ist geschmeidig, vollmundig mit reifen Tanninen und guter Struktur.Der 100-Prozent Cabernet Sauvignon reifte 18 Monate lang in französischen Eichenfässern. Mit mehr als 20 Hektar Anbaufläche ist Cabernet Sauvignon die bestimmende Traube beim familiengeführten Weingut Warwick, das insgesamt über eine Anbaufläche von 56 Hektar verfügt. Die Ratcliffes erkannten schnell, dass sich das Terroir in der Provinz Westkap ideal für den Anbau von Cabernet Sauvignon eignet. Der erste Wein, den Norma Ratcliffe kreierte, war dementsprechend ein Cabernet Sauvignon. Deshalb trägt er auch den Namen „First Lady“.Der Wein passt gut zu Lammbraten, Eintöpfen und Schweinefleisch.
