The Thelema Chardonnay displays a beautiful, light straw-yellow color in the glass. The bouquet reveals complex aromas of ripe peach, grapefruit marmalade, flowers, and complex yeast notes, as well as toasty aromas. On the palate, this white wine is clean with a lovely texture and a long finish.

This wine is an absolute hit and has received high ratings from Platter. It was also selected as the best wine at the SAA tasting. Enjoy this South African wine with full-bodied dishes such as lobster, tuna, chicken, and pork.

Thelema Mountain Vineyards

Thelema Mountain Vineyards liegt hoch am Helshoogte Pass des Simonsbergs im weltberühmten Weinbaugebiet Stellenbosch in Südafrika.

Gyles Webb, eigentlich Buchhalter von Beruf, kaufte zusammen mit seiner Frau die ursprüngliche Obstfarm 1983 und begann in der Zeit Weinbau in Stellenbosch zu studieren. Der Erfolg ließ nicht lange auf sich warten, bereits Mitte der 90er Jahre waren seine Weine weit bekannt und er gewann zahlreiche Preise und Auszeichnungen.

Bei Thelema Mountain Vineyards sind rote Weine mit Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot sowie Shiraz und Cabernet Franc vorherrschend. Weißweine der Spitzenklasse von den Sorten Sauvignon Blanc und Chardonnay gehören allerdings auch zum Repertoire.

Barbara und Gyles Webb leiten heute das Unternehmen Thelema Mountain Vineyards. Zum Unternehmen gehört seit 2002 auch ein zweiter Weinberg im Elgin Valley, wo die Marke Sutherland Vineyards produziert wird.

Meerlust Chardonnay

Im Glas ein heller, lebendiger Platin-Farbton mit grüner Tönung. Komplexes Bouquet von Zitronengras, Limetten, Hafermehl, ausdrucksstarker Mineralität.Am Gaumen ist der südafrikanische Wein von mittlerem Körper, aber mit klarer Säure, Aromen von Kalk, Marzipan, cremige ausgedehnte Eichen-, Apfel- und Birnbaum-Merkmale. Durch eine reine, lineare mineralische Note ergibt sich ein sauberer und langer Abgang.Von Hand gepflückt, als gesamte Partie gepresst und sofort in 300 Liter Fässer aus französischer Eiche gefüllt. Dabei wurden 60% neue Fässer und 40% Fässer, die schon bereits einmal befüllt waren, verwendet. Die Gärung fand in Eiche statt, teils als natürliche und teils als malolaktische Gärung. Die Reifung erfolgte für 12 Monate in Eichenfässern mit gelegentlichem Rühren vor dem Abfüllen in Flaschen.Dieser Weißwein aus der Region Stellenbosch passt perfekt zu gegrilltem Fisch, weißem und rotem Fleisch.

Mulderbosch Chardonnay

The Mulderbosch Chardonnay from Stellenbosch is an accessible yet stylish representative of its grape variety. The grapes come from various sites in the region and bring the typical combination of freshness and ripe fruit to the glass for which South African Chardonnay is prized.Lively citrus notes dominate the nose, reminiscent of orange peel and a hint of lemon blossom. The result is a modern, uncomplicated and accessible Chardonnay with good balance.The Mulderbosch Chardonnay goes well with poultry, light pasta dishes or fried fish. It is also a harmonious choice with mild cheese.
