The Thénard Givry Blanc Le Clos du Cellier aux Moines is a Chardonnay from the Burgundy region that was partly aged in oak casks. This remarkable, light-gold white wine is redolent of citrus fruit, honey and dried fruit, along with fine floral notes. On the palate, it shows a great balance and freshness as well as a great length.

The wine-growing region of Givry on the Côte Chalonnaise is dedicated primarily to red wines. However, the Domaine Thénard estate, which has been producing wines since the 1870s, impressively demonstrates that outstanding white wines are developed here as well. The Thénard estate runs three Premier Cru sites in Givry: the Clos du Cellier aux Moines, Clos Saint Pierre and Bois Chevaux vineyards.

The Thénard Givry Blanc Le Clos du Cellier aux Moines is characterised by soils with a higher lime content and the southern exposure of the vineyard. This is a Chardonnay that can already be enjoyed young, but another few years of ageing in the wine cellar will further enhance its qualities.
