Tiefenbrunner Linticlarus Lagrein Riserva Alto Adige DOC

The Tiefenbrunner Linticlarus Lagrein Riserva is a characteristic red wine from South Tyrol that easily meets the highest standards. International wine critics consistently award this Tiefenbrunner creation well over 90 points. The dark ruby red Lagrein combines intense notes of forest fruits and cherries in its bouquet. US wine critic James Suckling writes of "blackberries, black chocolate, black licorice and black coffee". He awards 94 points.

The Tiefenbrunner Linticlarus Lagrein Riserva is full-bodied on the palate, with fine-grained, ripe tannins and a stimulating acidity. The finish is wonderfully spicy and lingers for an impressively long time.

The grapes, which ripened on the slopes in Entiklar, were meticulously harvested by hand. the Tiefenbrunner Linticlarus Lagrein Riserva was matured in small oak barrels for 12 months, with more than a third of the barrels being new. "After a further six months in large wooden barrels, this Lagrein matures for another year in the bottle," write the makers from the Tiefenbrunner winery, who are the 9th generation to own the vineyards.

Enjoy this indigenous South Tyrolean wine at a temperature of 17 to 18 degrees. It is an ideal accompaniment to dark meat, game dishes, roasted poultry or spicy hard cheese.

Das Weingut Tiefenbrunner – Schlosskellerei Turmhof zählt zu den traditionsreichsten Familienbetrieben Südtirols. Bereits seit 1848 widmet sich die Familie Tiefenbrunner in Entiklar bei Kurtatsch dem Weinbau, heute geführt von Sabine und Christof Tiefenbrunner. The Lagrein grape variety was first mentioned in 1379 and is one of South Tyrol's indigenous red wine varieties.The Terlan winery ages its Lagrein for twelve months, partly in large wooden barrels and partly in barriques.
