Following a long tradition, the German winery Van Volxem has vinified this wonderful Riesling. The Van Volxem Riesling Schonfels GG dry is a real treat and will have Riesling lovers raving.The Riesling grapes have an excellent terroir. Ancient marine deposits and a cool but balanced climate prevail on the steep slopes of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region. The Schonfels site is located on a steep south-east facing slope. Excellent for ripening the grapes, which are harvested by hand in October.The fragrance of the Van Volxem Riesling Schonfels GG dry is delicate and floral, with notes of peach, apricot, almond, pear, plum and lime. The white wine shows depth and ripe fruit with hints of spices and herbs. If you give this wonderful Riesling a little air, creamy aromas emerge. The German winery Van Volxem is known for its predominantly dry wines with a moderate alcohol content.The Pinot blanc grapes for the Van Volxem Weissburgunder dry grow on mineral-rich, fertile slate soils in the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region. The grapes are harvested by hand on steep slate slopes. Spontaneous fermentation takes place after the harvest. The grape juice is matured for 5 months in stainless steel tanks and wooden barrels.The Pinot Blanc is golden in the glass. A sea of aromas of ripe tropical fruit, stimulating spring blossoms and the finest notes of precious wood unfold on the palate. The grapes for the Trenz Riesling Kabinett feinherb (off-dry) come from the renowned Johannisberg vineyard, where the grapes can be left longer on the vines than in regions at lower altitudes. This enables the grapes to reach a higher must weight, resulting in more intense sweetness and a finer acidity. The slope gradient of more than 30% also ensures more intense ripening of the grapes. The Trenz Johannisberg Riesling Kabinett feinherb (off-dry) is redolent of ripe pears and blood oranges, offering slightly peppery notes. It is juicy and fresh on the palate, showing aromas of peach and passion fruit. The finish is characterised by lovely mineral notes.
