The Bellevue Cinsault comes from one of South Africa's most traditional wine estates. Rooted in Stellenbosch, the Bellevue family winery is one of the pioneers of this versatile grape variety, which was once known as Hermitage. Today, Bellevue is reinterpreting Cinsault as a fresh, fruity red wine with moderate alcohol and a fine structure, ideal for the warmer months of the year.Bellevue Cinsault has a bright ruby red color in the glass and a lively, fragrant nose. Aromas of raspberry, strawberry, sour cherry and a hint of beet characterize the bouquet. On the palate, the red wine is medium-bodied, silky and fresh, with a subtle spiciness and supple tannins that blend harmoniously into the overall picture.The grapes come from old bush vines planted between 1994 and 1996. After gentle pressing, the must was fermented immediately. Fermentation lasted around four days, accompanied by daily pumping over for gentle extraction. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and then matured on the fine lees. Ageing took place in French and American oak, which gives the wine structure and depth without masking the fruit.This Cinsault is an ideal accompaniment to beef carpaccio, grilled tuna, antipasti or summer vegetable dishes. Thanks to its freshness and fine structure, it can also be served slightly chilled - perfect for the terrace or a picnic.Best served at 14-16°C - slightly chilled, it reveals its fresh, summery elegance to optimum effect.

Bellevue Pinotage 2020

Bellevue Pinotage comes from one of South Africa's most traditional wine estates. The winery in Stellenbosch planted one of the very first Pinotage vineyards back in 1953 - making it one of the pioneers of this unique grape variety. Pinotage is a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault and is now a true flagship of South African viticulture. The vines grow on different soils, mostly as so-called bush vines, which were planted between 1959 and 1996.The Bellevue Pinotage is fruity and lively in the glass. Aromas of red plum, cherry and raspberry are in the foreground, complemented by a pleasant spiciness and fine roasted aromas from the wooden barrel. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, juicy and elegant, with silky tannins and a harmonious, long-lasting finish. The fresh acidity also makes it particularly versatile with food.The grapes are harvested by hand and briefly cold crushed before fermentation to preserve color and fruit. The red wine then ferments for around four days, with gentle pumping over to extract the tannins and structure in the best possible way. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is matured in American oak barrels made by French coopers - the result is a balanced style with a gentle woody character and plenty of fruit.This Pinotage goes particularly well with roast beef, braised dishes such as oxtail or - for a change of pace - grilled fish such as galjoen, a South African classic. It also cuts a fine figure with strongly seasoned vegetables or mushroom dishes. Best served at 16-18°C, slightly chilled or room temperature.

Bellevue Reserve Pinotage 2021

With the Bellevue Reserve Pinotage, the renowned Bellevue winery from Stellenbosch presents its most intense and concentrated interpretation of South Africa's national grape variety. The wine comes from selected parcels of older Pinotage vineyards and embodies all the depth, power and elegance that Pinotage has to offer.This Pinotage is dense, powerful and at the same time polished - a real powerhouse with elegance. The nose is dominated by aromas of violets, cedar wood and dark berries. Sweet and tart raspberries, maraschino cherries and a fine umami note unfold on the palate, underpinned by fine-grained tannins and a clear, long-lasting structure.Only the best grapes are used for this reserve wine, mainly from a bush vineyard planted in 1996 on weathered granite and slate soil. After a four-day cold maceration, fermentation was temperature-controlled, with daily pump-overs for optimum extraction. The wine underwent spontaneous malolactic fermentation in barriques and matured for 22 months in French oak barrels - half new, half second-use.This expressive red wine calls for matured beef, a hearty game dish or - for the brave - one of the finest matured cheeses with character. Enjoy this Bellevue Reservie Pinotage at a drinking temperature of 16-18°C.

Der Benguela Cove Lighthouse Collection Syrah ist ein intensiver Rotwein aus der Walker Bay Region in Südafrika. Der Beyerskloof Pinotage Kriekbult ist der erste ortsspezifische Pinotage, der von Beyerskloof produziert wurde und eine Hommage an die Farm Kriekbult aus dessen Weinbergen die Trauben stammen. Dieser spezielle Rotwein drückt eine Fülle von schwarzen Fruchtaromen von Brombeeren bis Cassis mit ausgewogenen Eichenaromen von der Fassreifung aus. The Beyerskloof Synergy is a Cape blend like no other. As one of the first of its kind in South Africa, it combines the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon with the fruitiness of Pinotage and the softness of Merlot. A small proportion of Shiraz gives the red wine its spice and minerality. The wine matured for 14 months in first (10%), second and third fill French oak barrels.The color of the Beyerskloof Synergy Cape Blend is dark red and slightly shiny ruby red at the edges. The bouquet is almost effervescently intense of black fruits. The mouthfeel is juicy, soft and full-bodied. It is reminiscent of sweet cedar wood aromas, cherry and lots of black fruit. The Beyerskloof Traildust is a blend consisting of the Pinotage, Cinsault and Pinot Noir grape varieties. Everyone who knows that the Pinotage grape variety is a cross between Cinsault, also known as Heritage, and Pinot Noir immediately recognises the special quality of this wine.Winemaker Anri Truter, the owner of the Beyerskloof estate, thus united the ancient grape varieties with the new Pinotage cross. One might suppose that this was a bold experiment. However, after several years of trying the estate produced a wonderful wine. The Beyerskloof Traildust is, so to speak, a tribute to the legacy of the Pinotage.The wine has a wonderful bouquet offering aromas of black cherries, plums and flowers, accompanied by subtle hints of spice. It is a brilliant ruby-red in the glass. On the palate, the wine is juicy and fresh, with soft and balanced tannins. This is an elegant blend that is a rare find indeed.The Beyerskloof Traildust matured for 12 months in French oak casks, giving the wine its balance and power to accompany duck or game carpaccio, for example.
