The Aaldering Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot has an initially intense bouquet offering notes of ripe blackberries and cassis. The wonderfully fruity bouquet is harmoniously complemented and rounded off by fine nuances of eucalyptus, cedar and cigar box. This blend, consisting mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% of Merlot, is elegant and powerful on the palate, with velvety, well-structured tannins.This is a high-quality wine from the Devon Valley in the Stellenbosch region. The grape varieties were aged separately and matured for 25 months in French barriques, of which 35% were new barrels. The Allesverloren Shiraz comes from soils that are heavily interspersed with clay slate and large amounts of loam. The vineyards are located on the south-eastern slopes of the Kasteelberg in the Swartland wine-growing region.The wine has a deep red color, which is surrounded by a garnet rim in the glass. It smells wonderfully of plum and blackberry, black pepper and subtle tobacco notes in the background. On the palate, the Allesverloren Shiraz is full-bodied with a spicy woody note due to its maturation for 15 months in small wooden barrels. Anthonij Rupert Protea Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

The Protea Cabernet Sauvignon from Anthonij Rupert Wines is an excellent example of South African wine quality at a fair price. The grapes come from the Groenekloof region in the Darling wine-growing area. Here the days are warm and the nights cool, so there is a big difference in temperature. This fact and the deep red soil with decomposed granite give the wine a unique blend of dark and red fruit aromas.
