The Beyerskloof Pinotage is an intense crimson in colour. On the nose, the wine offers intense notes of plums and black cherry aromas. It is soft, elegant and medium-bodied on the palate, with velvety tannins. The slightly sweet notes of spices in combination with the aromas of black fruit make this classic Pinotage a genuine delight for any occasion. The Beyerskloof Synergy is the epitome of Cape wines. As one of the first of this type in South Africa, it unites the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon, the fruitiness of Pinotage and the softness of Merlot. By planting the pinotage grapes in rows in a north-easterly direction the grapes are not in the bright afternoon sun. This prevents them to develop a roasted and spicy aroma. And it helps even more that the sea is near, only 8 kilometer away. By low proceeds of 50 hectoliters per hectare the grapes get lots of intensity and the wine has enough strength and depth to let a part of it mature in wooden barrels. Fermentation at no more than 25 ° C ensures plenty of fruit. 40% of the wine matured in French oak barrels or American origin, making this a pleasant vanilla tasty Pinotage without sacrificing the fruit.

Anri Truter Besitzer und Winzer bei Beyerskloof wird längst als Mister Pinotage in Südafrika bezeichnet. Nur wenige geben sich mit einer solchen Hingabe dieser Rebsorte hin. Der Beyerskloof Pinotage Reserve lagerte für 14 Monate auf französischer Eiche. 10 % des Rotweins verbrachte dabei die Reifung in neuen Fässern und der Rest in Fässern zweiter und dritter Füllung.
