The Beyerskloof Pinotage is an intense crimson in colour. On the nose, the wine offers intense notes of plums and black cherry aromas. It is soft, elegant and medium-bodied on the palate, with velvety tannins. The slightly sweet notes of spices in combination with the aromas of black fruit make this classic Pinotage a genuine delight for any occasion. Im Jahre 1988 gründete Beyers Truter, einer der bedeutendsten Winzer am Kap und damals Winemaker bei Kanonkop Estate das Weingut Beyerskloof. Auf der Suche nach einer geeigneten Farm fand er in der Region Koelenhof nahe Stellenbosch das alte Gut mit Namen Nooitgedacht. Diese Farm war bis 1895 in Besitz der Familie Beyers, welche direkte Vorfahren von Beyers Truter waren. So konnte das erworbene Grundstück folgerichtig nur einen Namen tragen: Beyerskloof

Die Philosophie von Beyerskloof besteht in dem Bestreben mit den natürlichen Ressourcen ein unvergessliches, erstklassiges Weinerlebnis zu schaffen.

Eine Verpflichtung die Beyerskloof international bekannt gemacht hat und zum Beispiel durch den Gewinn der Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande Trophy für die beste Rotweincuvee der Welt beim INTERNATIONAL WINE & SPIRIT COMPETITION in London Ausdruck fand.

Beyers und sein Team von Beyerskloof treibt der ständige Wunsch, innovativ zu sein, vorausschauend zu denken und letztendlich die Nase vorn zu haben. Beyerskloof hat das Bestreben den alltäglichen Konsumenten zufrieden zu stellen.

Eine weitere Besonderheit ist die Hingabe an der Verbesserung der Pinotage Rebe zu arbeiten, so wundert es nicht, dass Beyers Truter Gründungsmitglied der Pinotage Association ist.

By planting the pinotage grapes in rows in a north-easterly direction the grapes are not in the bright afternoon sun. This prevents them to develop a roasted and spicy aroma. And it helps even more that the sea is near, only 8 kilometer away. By low proceeds of 50 hectoliters per hectare the grapes get lots of intensity and the wine has enough strength and depth to let a part of it mature in wooden barrels. Fermentation at no more than 25 ° C ensures plenty of fruit. 40% of the wine matured in French oak barrels or American origin, making this a pleasant vanilla tasty Pinotage without sacrificing the fruit.
