Beyerskloof Synergy Cape Blend

The Beyerskloof Synergy is the epitome of Cape wines. As one of the first of this type in South Africa, it unites the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon, the fruitiness of Pinotage and the softness of Merlot. A small percentage of Shiraz, Cinsault and Pinot Noir gives the Beyerskloof Synergy its spice and minerality. It matured for 14 months in first- (10%), second- and third-fill French oak casks.

The Beyerskloof Synergy Cape Blend is a deep red in the glass, with a slightly shimmering ruby-red rim. Its bouquet offers extremely intense notes of black fruit. On the palate, the wine is juicy, soft and full-bodied, recalling sweet aromas of cedar, cherries and lots of black fruit. The beautifully integrated tannins wonderfully support the Synergy Cape blend’s balance and complexity. Its finish is pleasantly soft and round.

Try this blend from the Cape with game, oxtail or leg of lamb.

Beyerskloof

Vergelegen Mill Race Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

The combination of mainly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with small proportions of Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot ensures a harmonious balance between structure, fruit and soft tannins.Intense aromas of dark berries, ripe plums and blackcurrants unfold on the nose, accompanied by spicy notes such as cedar wood, tobacco and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, the red wine is powerful yet supple and velvety, with well-integrated tannins that ensure a long, soft finish. The wine is matured in French oak barrels, most of which are used, which gives the wine additional depth and complexity without masking the fruit. The Vergelegen Mill Race is an excellent accompaniment to a creamy risotto or a pepper steak.
