Dieser Weißwein aus Südafrika ist ein Blend aus überwiegend Chenin Blanc (49%) und Chardonnay (21%), assembliert mit kleineren Anteilen von Viognier, Sémillon und Sauvignon Blanc. Der Babylonstoren Candide ist eine Komposition aus allen weißen Rebsorten, die auf den Lagen des Weingutes heranreifen, das zwischen Paarl und Stellenbosch liegt.Das Bouquet ist anregend frisch-fruchtig. Der Candide duftet nach tropischen Früchten wie Ananas, Limetten und Melonen. Dazu kommen feinen Nuancen von Geißblatt, die den Duftstrauß abrunden. Am Gaumen ist dieser südafrikanische, Chenin Blanc-geprägte Wein trocken und zugleich herrlich knackig-frisch, mit mittlerem Körper und einem fruchtbetonten Aromenspiel sowie einer tragenden, frischen Säure. „Mit einer unterschwelligen Bienenwachs-Seidigkeit, die vom Sémillon herrührt“, formulieren die Macherinnen und Macher des Babylonstoren Candide. Das Finale ist anregend erfrischend.Viognier, Chardonnay und Sémillon wurden in französischen Eichenfässern zweiter und dritter Füllung vergoren und vier Monate auf der Hefe gelagert, bevor sie mit der frischen Chenin Blanc-Komponente assembliert wurden. Dieser Wein hat in den vergangenen Jahren viele internationale Preise gewonnen. Unter anderem vom Decanter Magazine als „Best White Blend in the world over £15“ und 9 mal mit 5 Sternen von John Platter ausgezeichnet. Der zu 75% aus Sauvignon Blanc und zu 25% aus Semillon hergestellte Isliedh hat eine stark mineralische Note, die den Wein einzigartig als Essensbegleiter macht. Schon das Bouquet ist besonders komplex. Es zeigt florale Noten, sowie Aromen von Zitrone, reifem Obst, Marmelade und leichte Röstaromen. Am Gaumen ist der Isliedh von Cape Point Vineyard reichhaltig und lang. Der Wein schmeckt nach Pfirsich, Birne, Vanille, Backgewürz und zeigt einen Hauch von Ingwer, der lange im Abgang verweilt. Die Trauben für diesen herrlichen Wein stammen aus Noordhoek einer Gemeinde südlich von Kapstadt direkt am Atlantik. The Dornier Semillon is an excellent white wine that perfectly unites the fascinating combination of tradition and modern winemaking. This single-varietal white wine comes from a unique single vineyard in Stellenbosch, which offers ideal conditions for grape quality with its weathered granite soil and cool microclimate. With its bright golden color and complex aromas, this wine impressively demonstrates the character and finesse of the Semillon grape.The grapes are harvested by hand at optimum ripeness, ensuring that the best fruit is carefully selected and sorted in the vineyard. The must is fermented in new and second 300-liter French oak barrels and remains on the lees for nine months. This long ageing on the fine lees gives the wine its rich, creamy texture and additional complexity.Intense aromas of lemon zest, fresh hay, caramelized apple and honey unfold on the nose and shape the elegant character of the Semillon. The aromatic diversity continues on the palate with notes of quince, lemon meringue and brioche.
