Bouchard Finlayson Walker Bay Sauvignon Blanc

The Bouchard Finlayson Walker Bay Sauvignon Blanc is - in terms of volume - the bestseller from the internationally award-winning South African winery Bouchard Finlayson. Connoisseurs appreciate the seductive, intensely fruity bouquet of this white wine from the Western Cape province.

Tropical notes of passion fruit, lemon, apples and figs characterize the complex bouquet. There are also nuances of blackcurrants, freshly cut grass and herbs. On the palate, the Bouchard Finlayson Walker Bay Sauvignon Blanc is dry and pleasantly soft, with great balance and an underlying salty minerality.

The winery is located just a few kilometers from Hermanus, the coastal town so popular with tourists (keyword: whale watching) on Walker Bay in the South Atlantic. The cool sites in the Hemel-en-Aarde valley with their slate-clay soils are the ideal terroir for Sauvignon Blanc. Bouchard Finlayson is a master at creating outstanding wines with an impressive price-performance ratio in these ideal conditions.

Enjoy the Sauvignon Blanc, which has been blended with a small proportion of Semillon, with white baked fish with lemon and rosemary, grilled asparagus or grilled zucchinis.

Cape of Good Hope Altima Sauvignon Blanc
The Altima Sauvignon Blanc from the Cape of Good Hope series from the Anthonij Rupert winery comes from the Elandskloof region around 15 kilometers east of Franschhoek in South Africa. It is a narrow valley surrounded by steep mountain ranges. The mountains provide the vines with plenty of shade and the climate tends to be cool. This results in a white wine with relatively high acidity and superficial aromas. This also has a positive influence on the ageing potential. The Cape of Good Hope Altima Sauvignon Blanc smells of green beans, cut grass, peppers and grapefruit zest. On the palate, it has a mineral note and lively acidity. The wine tastes of grapefruit, lemon and melon. It is a balanced, dry, crisp Sauvignon Blanc with a lingering finish.Try the Cape of Good Hope Altima Sauvignon Blanc with iceberg lettuce or cold seafood. Also ideal as a summer wine for the terrace.

Creation Estate Sauvignon Blanc
The Creation Estate Sauvignon Blanc shines lemon yellow with a green shimmer in the glass. This white wine from South Africa stands out above all due to its impressive minerality. The cool vineyards of Creation Wines, located on a plateau in the Hemel-en-Aarde valley not far from the Atlantic, promote this mineral note. At the same time, the Sauvignon Blanc has a multi-faceted aroma of elderflower, papaya, cassis and passion fruit. Greg Mutambe also perceives these "seductive" notes in the bouquet and awards the Sauvignon Blanc 4 stars in John Platter's Wine Guide. Crisp on the palate, with wonderfully integrated acidity and minerality. The creation from six different Sauvignon Blanc clones grown by Creation Wines was deliberately not matured in wood. The minerality and fruitiness of the white wine from the Walker Bay region should be in the foreground.Try the refined Creation Estate Sauvignon Blanc with its great freshness, for example with sushi, goat's cheese, dishes with eggplants or a mussel pan. Lanzerac Sauvignon Blanc
The Lanzerac Sauvignon Blanc consists of grapes that come from two different vineyards. One of the vineyards is already 19 years old and located 450 metres above sea level. The grapes from these vines give the wine its complexity. The vines that grow in the second vineyard are only 4 years old, giving the wine its freshness. In order to protect the grapes from heat stress, the harvest was carried out early in the morning. After repeated selection in the cellar, the grapes were pressed at a temperature of approximately 57.2 °F. The must remained in contact with the skin for about 6 hours. Subsequently, the wine was fermented at a temperature of 53.6 to 57.2 °F for a period of 10 days. On the nose, the Lanzerac Sauvignon Blanc offers various aromas such as notes of green apple, Asian fruit, pears, white peach and lemon grass. It is soft and creamy on the palate, showing an intense minerality and a surprisingly long finish. Thanks to its vivid acidity, the Lanzerac Sauvignon Blanc goes beautifully with goat’s cheese and seafood salads.
