The Delaire Graff Estate Banghoek Reserve Merlot is an expressive red wine from one of South Africa's best-known vineyards. In the middle of the majestic Banghoek Valley - a region that owes its name "De Bange Hoek" (the "terrible corner") to former pioneers - the Merlot grapes thrive in the highest vineyards of the Delaire Graff Estate. The special combination of altitude, slope and soil structure creates the ideal conditions for exceptionally concentrated, aromatic berries.The grapes for this Merlot are harvested exclusively by hand in the cool early morning hours. After careful selection, the grapes are gently destemmed and partially crushed. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature between 24°C and 26°C in open fermenters, supported by a targeted combination of punchdowns and pumpovers to extract the best possible color, structure and aromas. After primary fermentation, the wine spends a further four to six weeks on the skins at 16°C - a technique that adds depth and silky tannins.The Delaire Graff Merlot then matures for 16 months in 70% new French oak barrels - this gives it structure, ageing potential and complex spicy notes without overpowering the fruit.The wine is a deep ruby red in the glass. The nose reveals complex aromas of dark plums, juicy wild berries and a hint of fine spice. On the palate, the Merlot is dense and elegant, with ripe, polished tannins and remarkable balance. The structure is firm but supple, the finish is long and characterized by dark fruit and subtle oak spice.This elegant Merlot is an ideal accompaniment to hearty meat dishes such as braised leg of lamb, fillet of beef or duck breast. It also impresses with mature hard cheese or a lentil curry with roasted aromas.

The grapes for Delheim Grand Reserve 2020 were harvested by hand in small batches, with only the best grapes being processed. The juice was fermented in a combination of open-top fermenters and vertical stainless steel tanks. After extraction, the wine matured for 18 months in 300-liter French oak barrels.The complex bouquet of this cuvée of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12.5% Cabernet Franc, 12.5% Petit Verdot and 6% Merlot is dominated by blackberries and blackcurrants, followed by notes of tobacco and tomato leaf, fresh pencil shavings and cassis. With the Iconoclast Cabernet Franc, the Delheim winery in Simonsberg presents an expressive red wine with a clear origin and unmistakable character. The vines thrive in the Vaaldraai vineyard on weathered granite soils of the Oakleaf profile - a unique combination of soil, slope and altitude of 220 to 260 meters above sea level. These conditions give the wine its depth, structure and elegant spiciness.The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and processed gently. After destemming and light crushing, temperature-controlled fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by a two-week maceration period to intensify structure and complexity. Delheim Merlot 2022

The Delheim Merlot grapes come from vines up to 20 years old from a vineyard called Peperboom Vineyard. The Peperboom, which means pepper tree or pepper bush, was originally planted here. The grapes were harvested in two stages in order to achieve the maximum concentration of tannins and color. Fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks using selected yeast strains. The temperature during the fermentation process was between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius. The juice was then stored on the skins for a further 18 days and then matured for 12 months in French oak barrels.Notes of tobacco, red fruits with cloves and cinnamon are clearly recognizable on the nose. The Delheim Merlot is an elegant wine with a subtle structure and silky tannins. Full-bodied on the palate with an unusual freshness reminiscent of blueberry and plum flavors.Ageing in the bottle for 3 to 4 years allows the wine to reach optimum maturity. Certainly a delight with roast chicken or mushroom soup.

The Delheim Pinotage has a deep ruby red colour. On the nose, the red wine offers aromas of black cherries, plums and red berries, wonderfully underpinned by nuances of dark chocolate and floral notes. The flavours of red and black berries are intense on the palate. The velvety tannins round off the flavour experience perfectly.The Delheim Pinotage from the outstanding Stellenbosch wine-growing region matured for 12 months in oak barrels, 21% of which were new barrels. A dry red wine made from hand-picked grapes, which you can enjoy immediately, but which will become even better within five years of the harvest.Enjoy this South African wine with meat dishes such as oxtail, beef stew and smoked chicken.

Delheim Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Blackberry and plum aromas, backed by undertones of dark chocolate and vanilla. The wine is elegant and lingers on the palate.Fermentation with selected yeast strains. Temperature was maintained at 25-28°C. Pump-overs were conducted 4 times a day until fermented dry. The wine was matured for 13 months in French oak, and then bottled with a screw cap.

Der Delheim Vera Cruz Pinotage hat ein tiefes Pupurrot. In der Nase zeigen sich bei dem Rotwein Noten von reifen dunklen Früchten, integrierte Vanille- und Toffeenoten und ein Hauch von Gewürzen. Am Gaumen ist der Wein aus Südafrika saftig, voll und rund mit einem langen Abgang.Dieser Pinotage stammt von einer Einzellage mit unbewässerten bush-vines, also Reben ohne Drahtrahmenerziehung. Natürlicher Weingenuss par excellence. Die Trauben für den reinsortigen Pinotage aus Stellenbosch in Südafrika wurden akribisch gelesen; es wurden nur die besten Trauben bester Qualität geerntet. Die erste Sortierung wurde bereits in den Weinbergen vorgenommen. Der Delheim Vera Cruz Pinotage reifte für 18 Monate in 300L und 500L Fässern aus französischer Eiche, wobei zu 35% neue Fässer zum Einsatz kamen.
