Dickens Tale of Three Wines 2018

Lionel Dickens als Winemaker steht hinter diesem Projekt. Als südafrikanisches Kind der Weinbranche hatte er schon immer eine Leidenschaft für Natur und Landschaft seines Landes. Nachdem er viele Jahre in verschiedenen Bereichen der Weinindustrie gearbeitet hat, hat Lionel Dickens damit begonnen, im Weinkeller ein neues Kapitel zu schreiben. Seine Weine sind von der klassischen Tradition inspiriert – mit minimalem Eingriff hergestellt, um Ausgewogenheit, Eleganz und vor allem eine interessante Herkunftsgeschichte widerzuspiegeln.Für uns sind die Weine von Dickens „die“ Entdeckung des Jahres 2023 aus Südafrika.Der Dickens Tale of Three Wines besteht zu 98% aus Shiraz und zu jeweils 1% aus Mouverdre und Viognier. Die Trauben stammen zu 99% aus der südafrikanischen Region Franschhoek. Diese mehrdimensionale und komplexe rote Mischung zeigt vielschichtige Aromen von roten Beerenfrüchten, Veilchen und Gewürzen. Am Gaumen verbinden sich die Aromen von Beeren und Veilchen mit weichen, kalkhaltigen Tanninen zu einem konzentrierten und vollmundigen Wein. Der Wein reifte 18 Monate in französischen Eichenfässern.Der Dickens Tale of Three Wines kann sowohl pur als auch als Essensbegleiter genossen werden. Diemersdal Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2025

The Diemersdal Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot is an elegant cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the Diemersdal winery in the Western Cape. The grapes ripen on exposed northern slopes in red Hutton soils, under the influence of cool Atlantic breezes, which gives them intense fruit and fine structure.After being harvested by hand, the grapes are vinified separately and then matured for eight months in French oak, developing velvety tannins and a harmonious depth.In the glass, the red wine presents itself with aromas of cherries, mulberries and dark chocolate, powerful and elegant on the palate with a long, soft finish.The Diemersdal Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot goes perfectly with grilled dishes, spicy poultry or roast pork. Serve at 16-18 °C to enjoy the full variety of flavors.

This composition of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot as well as smaller proportions of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc has a complex aroma of blackberry, cherry and cassis as well as eucalyptus, licorice and notes of dark chocolate, cedar wood, fine oak wood aromas and vanilla. On the palate, the Diemersdal Private Collection is elegant and powerful, with great structure. The Sonnenberg family winery is known primarily for its Pinotage creations, but also showcases its remarkable expertise in winemaking with this Cabernet Sauvignon.
