Der Château Branaire Ducru ist ein 4ème Cru aus der renommierten Appellation Saint-Julien, am linken Ufer der Gironde. Da 2019, zusammen mit 2018 und 2020, zu den Ausnahmejahrgängen im Bordelais zählt, darf der Weinliebhaber vom Château Branaire Ducru viel erwarten. Und er wird nicht enttäuscht!

58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot und 3% Cabernet Franc bilden die Cuvée dieses Weines, der in diesem sonnenverwöhnten Jahrgang zu einem Höhenflug angesetzt hat, was seinen Charme und Appeal betrifft.

Der Wein zeigt ein süßes, verführerisches Frucht-Bouquet, viel Pflaume, Kaffee, Pfeffer, schwarze Kirschen und Lakritz. Am Gaumen eine gute Frucht, seidige Tannine und eine sehr klassische Struktur. Der Abgang ist fein und lang.

Der Branaire Ducru dürfte ab 202025 trinkreif sein. Wer ihn vorher probieren möchte, begeht zwar keine Sünde, sollte ihn aber vorher gehörig lange dekantieren.

Wir empfehlen diesen außergewöhnlichen Saint Julien solo, aber auch zu Geschmortem, Geflügel, Wild oder Gegrilltem.

The wines here are dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, very terroir-oriented and absolute marathon runners. The Grand Vin from Château Batailley is one of the great classics from Pauillac in Bordeaux and impressively embodies the nobility and longevity of this traditional appellation. Year after year, the estate, which is one of the oldest in Pauillac, produces a red wine that masterfully combines finesse, structure and authenticity.Clearly dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon with 74%, 23% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot, 60% of the 2018 Batailley was matured in new wooden barrels.It is an extremely elegant wine, with aromas of cassis, tobacco, graphite, dark berries, black chocolate and mint. Lots of structure on the palate, powerful bouquet, creamy, lots of fine tannins. The finish is long and fresh.Ready to drink from 2026, this wine should be given some time to fully blossom. It will then be able to delight connoisseurs with its multifaceted and deep aromas for almost 20 years.

2018 war ein weiterer der sehr guten Jahrgänge in Bordeaux, zusammen mit 2015, 2016, 2019 und 2020. Es verwundert also nicht, dass der Clos du Marquis 2018 ein mehr als gelunger, sehr typischer Vertreter Saint Juliens geworden ist.Die Assemblage besteht aus 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot und 23% Cabernet Franc.Der Wein ist frisch, mit viel Frucht nach Cassis und Kirschen, wird aber gegenbalanciert durch Tabak, Zeder, Kräuter und etwas Menthol. Deutliches Tanningerüst, kräftiger Körper, dennoch sehr eleganter, vielschichtiger und facettenreicher Eindruck. Langer Nachhall, die Tannine haben noch Power und werden sich in Zukunft noch geschliffener präsentieren.Trinkreich aber ca. 2025, 20+ Jahre Lebenserwartung.Robert Parker: 93/100 Punkte; Suckling: 96/100 Punkte; Jeb Dunnuck: 95+/100 Punkte.

Das Weingut war lange Zeit sehr vernachlässigt worden, was sich änderte, als der Geschäftsmann Jackie Lorenzetti Château Pedesclaux im Jahre 2009 übernahm. Seitdem erkennt man das Weingut nicht wieder (im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes, durch die architektonischen Änderungen) und auch der Wein ist nun tatsächlich mehr als einem klassifizierten Gewächs würdig.Der 2018er Pedesclaux, der aus 48% Merlot, 47% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot und 2% Cabernet Franc besteht, ist ein toller, archetypischer Vertreter Pauillacs.René Gabriel: 18/20 Punkte; James Suckling: 95/100 Punkte; Falstaff: 94/100 Punkte.

Dieses Château aus der berühmten Appellation Saint Julien im Médoc ist bis heute im Familienbesitz und produziert Jahr für Jahr einen der besten Weine der Region.2020 war ein sehr guter Jahrgang in einer Reihe von Ausnahmejahrgängen (2015, 2016, 2018, 2019) und knüpft nahtlos an die Erfolge dieser Weine an.65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot und 5% Cabernet Franc stellen die Assemblage dieses Cru Bourgeois.Noch etwas verschlossen, ist hier viel Frucht und Beerigkeit vorhanden; dazu Tabak, Rauch, Grafit, Brombeeren, Cassis und Veilchen. Sehr klassischer Saint Julien-Gaumen, der sich zwischen Pauillac Power und Struktur und Eleganz einpendelt. Deutliche, saftige Tannine, die aber noch schmelziger werden. Weine vom Château Gloria haben ein gutes Alterungspotential und brauchen etwas Geduld. Der Abgang ist lang und aromatisch.Trinkreif ab voraussichtlich 2027, dann aber mit einer "Mindestlaufzeit" von einem Vierteljahrhundert.Winespectator: 93-96/100 Punkte; James Suckling: 94/100 Punkte; René Gabriel: 17/20 Punkte (mit Aussicht auf mehr).

This Penfolds Bin 28 Shiraz is a deep brick-red in colour. Initially, the wine offers sumptuous, warm and spicy Shiraz aromas such as cloves, cinnamon, coriander, juicy plums and cherries. Later, it shows notes of liquorice and fine nuances of vanilla.This wine is medium-bodied and rich in taste, showing juicy aromas of plums, cherries and berries, which mingle with notes of dark chocolate, mocha and spices.The wine matured for 12 months in repeatedly used American oak casks.The Penfolds Bin 28 is a prime example of Australian Shiraz wines, made of grapes which ripened at a pleasant warmth. It is robust and offers opulent, juicy aromas, without showing dominant notes of new oak or an excessive alcohol content. This Shiraz was produced for the first time in 1962 and owed its name ‘Kalimna’ to the renowned vineyard located in the Barossa Valley. Penfolds acquired this vineyard in 1945, from whose grapes the wine was initially solely made.Today, the Bin 28 is a real Penfolds - a multi-regional and multi-vineyard blend, which means that this wine is made from vines from different regions and vineyards. It shows clearly defined, ripe fruit in its youth, concentration and significant fruit sweetness, with minimal wood influence.
