The Springfield "The Work of Time" is a powerful, Bordeaux-inspired red wine cuvée from Robertson in South Africa.A spicy and sensual aroma on the nose, peppery and open. The broad and complex bouquet of Springfield The Work of Time is accompanied by vanilla, berries, cherries and a hint of chocolate. You can taste a smooth elegance on the palate and a slightly mature taste. There is also a light spiciness, vanilla aroma and cherry.The overall taste is smooth and well-rounded. The grapes were fermented entirely with indigenous yeasts (according to ancient custom) and left on their skins for 5 weeks. Stag’s Leap Artemis Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Winemaker Nicki Pruss wisely and thoughtfully selects the best grapes from the various Napa Valley vineyards and skillfully blends them with grapes from his own Fay vineyard in the Stag's Leap District to create this unique Cabernet Sauvignon blend: with the depth, structure and elegance of the winery's limited single-vineyard wines and at the same time characterized by the individual character of each Napa Valley vineyard, which enriches Artemis with so many, often the smallest facets.The grapes are fermented separately and the wines are then blended into the Artemis Final Blend. The Stag's Leap Artemis Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis matures for 18 months in French oak barrels (55% new), is then bottled and aged for a further six months in the bottle before finally being released for sale.In the glass, Artemis is a deep, dense plum red with ruby highlights. The American red wine enchants with a classic Cabernet bouquet of juicy ripe blackcurrants, blackberries and black cherries, underlaid with earthy notes of moss and forest floor, leather, cedar, herbs (rosemary), licorice, mocha, vanilla and caramel. On the palate, the wine is powerful, intense and firmly structured, yet with the classic elegance of Stag's Leap. Der Steenberg Catharina ist ein Bordeaux Blend, wobei die Stilistik an die Weine des rechten Ufers der Gironde erinnern. Kein Wunder, ist dieser Rotwein doch Merlot dominiert. Die Rebsorten wurden jeweils einzeln vergoren und für 18 Monate in neuen und gebrauchten Eichenfässern gereift. Danach gemischt und für weitere 6 Monate im Holz gereift. Entstanden ist ein subtiler, verführerischer Wein.Der Steenberg Catharina Red Blend zeigt in der Nase eine Fülle an dunklen Kirschen, Zigarre, Kaffee, Vanille, Preiselbeeren und Bitterschokolade. Vielschichtig geht es auch am Gaumen zu; hier präsentieren sich konzentrierte Fruchtaromen von Himbeere und Johannisbeere. Rund und mit viel Tiefe und eingeschlossen von einer samtigen Textur kommt im Abgang seine tolle Frische zum Ausdruck.Der Catharina Red Blend von Steenberg ergänzt als Essensbegleiter dunkles Fleisch mit kräftiger Sauce ganz hervorragend.

Steenberg Five Lives Red Blend 2021

Eine Hommage an die Gründerin von Steenberg, Catharina Ras. Five Lives symbolisiert ihre Lebensgeschichte, die in fünf Kapiteln beschrieben werden kann. Eine Frau, die Ihren Mut nutzte, sich anzupassen und jeder neuen Herausforderung fern von Ihrer Heimat Lübeck trotzte.Die Weinberge für den südafrikanischen Steenberg Five Lives Red Blend liegen auf altem Granit in der Region Westkap. Merlot und Cabernet Sauvignon werden in Edelstahltanks vinifiziert. Vor der Gärung werden 10-15 % des Saftes von den Schalen entfernt, um den Körper und die Fülle zu verbessern. Beide Sorten werden 14 Tage lang getrennt auf den Schalen vergoren. Zweimal am Tag wird abgepumpt, um Farbe und Tannin zu extrahieren. Nach der Gärung werden sie getrennt in kleine französische Eichenfässer umgefüllt. Die malolaktische Gärung findet im Fass statt und der Wein reift 20 Monate lang. Anschließend wird der Wein verschnitten und vor der Abfüllung leicht geklärt.Im Glas zeigt sich der Rotwein in einer intensiven dunkelroten Farbe mit einem helleren Granatrot am Rand. Die Nase umspielen Aromen von Schwarzer Johannisbeere, Cassis, Noten von Erde, Basilikum und Pflaume. Der Wein ist mittelkräftig bis vollmundig und zeigt eine seidige Textur und Tiefe sowie eine elegante Tanninstruktur. Noch lange nach dem letzten Schluck prägen den Gaumen pikantes Pesto aus sonnengetrockneten Tomaten, Tabakgewürz, Kirsche und Zimt. Der Merlot bildet das Rückgrat dieses Weins mit sauberen, hellen Früchten, die ihm subtile Frische verleihen. Der Cabernet Sauvignon bringt ein formales, ernsthaftes Profil in die Mischung ein.

The Merlot DOC Riserva Siebeneich offers a complex bouquet, which combines notes of dried plums, cranberries, mint and eucalyptus, complemented by hints of black pepper and subtle oak notes.
