Waterford The Jem is the flagship wine of the renowned South African Waterford Estate. This exceptional red wine cuvée combines the estate's best grapes and reflects the unique terroir of Stellenbosch. Named after the founder Jeremy Ord ("Jem"), this wine stands for craftsmanship, complexity and elegance at the highest level.Up to eight different grape varieties are combined for The Jem, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Each grape variety is vinified separately in order to bring out its individual character traits in the best possible way. After temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine is matured for at least 20 months in French oak barrels, followed by further bottle ageing to perfectly integrate the aromas and refine the tannins.In the glass, Waterford The Jem is a deep ruby red with garnet reflections. The Waterkloof Circle of Life Red is fresh, fruity and soft on the palate, with a lovely acidity, developing herbal notes and elegantly integrated tannins. Initially, the individual grape varieties matured separately for 18 months in French oak casks, of which only one fifth were new barrels in order to avoid predominant notes of wood. Weingut Tschida Spätlese Merlot 2023

Hans Tschida ist nicht grundlos mit seinem Weingut schon häufiger als Süßweingut des Jahres ausgezeichnet worden. Zeigt er doch immer wieder welch wunderbare Süßweine er vinifizieren kann. Mit dem aus 100% Merlot hergestellten Tschida Spätlese Merlot beweist Hans, dass auch Rebsorten die eher selten für Süßweine verwendet werden, Wunderbares hervorbringen können.Im Glas zeigt sich der Tschida Spätlese Merlot in einem hellen, glänzenden Ziegelrot mit himbeerfarbenen Elementen und hellen orangen Reflexen. Abwechslungsreiche Aromen nach Weichseln, Mandarinenschalen, Kirschblüten, Sanddorn und dem Gelee von Zitrusfrüchten betören die Nase. Die Struktur des Süßweines ist geschmeidig mit einem feinen, runden Säurespiel. Das Weingut Tschida umschreibt das Süßeerlebnis als charmant mit heller Frucht, einem Himbeeranklang und zart rosablütigen Finish.

Der Wente Mount Diablo Highlands Red Blend ist ein kalifornischer Rotwein aus der renommierten Weinregion Livermore Valley. Es handelt sich um eine harmonische Cuvée aus insgesamt 7 Rebsorten, wobei Cabernet Sauvignon und Petit Verdot den Hauptanteil stellen. Im Glas präsentiert sich der Wente Mount Diablo Highlands Red Blend in einem tiefen Rubinrot und verströmt einladende Aromen von roten Früchten, besonders dunkle Kirsche und frische Pflaume. The fruit for Sandstone Merlot comes from a gently sloping formation of hills running along the southeastern corner of the famous Livermore Valley. The Wente family’s hillside Merlot vineyards deliver fully ripened fruit with exceptional depth of character.With a smooth mouthfeel and inviting tannins, this Merlot exhibits flavors of strawberry, cherry, blackberryand fig with hints of toast, brown sugar and spice, with a long luscious finish.Each varietal was harvested separately and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine was pumped over twice daily to increases the color and tannin extractions and improves mouthfeel through the integration of oxygen. Aged for 20 months in French and American neutral oak.Enjoy this wine for grilling, with a chicken menu or with cheese.

Yarden Merlot 2019

14 months the Yarden Merlot was aged in French oak barrels. The nose is wonderfully complex, the wine offers aromas of dark fruits, herbs de Provence, bay leaves and green olives. Then there are the subtle hints of oak.On the palate the 100% Merlot is full-bodied. The red wine is powerful and dense, yet remarkably elegant and balanced.
