Der Tenuta Petrolo Galatrona 2021 ist ein wahrhaft meisterhafter Ausdruck von Merlot aus dem Herzen der Toskana, im Val d'Arno di Sopra DOC. Dieser ikonische Rotwein genießt weltweit hohes Ansehen und wird oft als einer der besten Merlots Italiens gefeiert. Guado al Tasso Bolgheri DOC Superiore

The Guado al Tasso is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wonderful wine comes from the Tenuta Guado al Tasso. It is located about 80 kilometres southwest of Florence, near the medieval village of Bolgheri. The grapes were aged separately in new oak barrels for 12 months. The best parts were assembled and matured for six further months in small barrels before the wine was bottled.The Merlot gives the Guado al Tasso, a subtle sweetness and density and intense aromas of dark fruit. Cabernet Sauvignon offers notes of dark fruits and licorice. Cabernet Franc finally gives harmony and balance, while Petit Verdot completes the bouquet with a hint of spice.Enjoy an elegant wine from Tuscany, for which the grapes were handpicked and processed with great meticulousness.

"Monumental": that's what the makers of Castello di Fonterutoli themselves write about their Mazzei Siepi 2020. And what can we say: they're right. The red wine from Tuscany is an outstanding creation. The blend of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Merlot from the Chianti Classico region has enchanted international wine critics. "An exceptionally beautiful wine. I love it," says Decanter (98 points), for example, while Monica Larner writes in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (95 points): "The Mazzei 2020 Siepi is a magnificent vintage."The bouquet of the Italian red wine seduces with its complexity and the wonderful interplay of fruit, spice and floral notes. "Graphite and pencil come through, along with violets and blackberries. Also some tar and asphalt," writes James Suckling, who awards 98. Castello di Fonterutoli itself discovers crunchy elderberries, plums, berries, sandalwood and tobacco on the nose, while Decanter says of the bouquet: "Dried herbs and sweet spices on the nose, forest notes with blackberry fruit, concentrated and expressive." Cherry notes also characterize the bouquet.On the palate, the Mazzei Siepi 2020 is dry, wonderfully soft and at the same time crisp and fresh, with impressive elegance and depth. The fruitiness is fascinating. "Such a smooth transition on the palate, the tannins glide over the tongue and give the sweet strawberry, raspberry and plum fruit time to expand in the mouth," enthuses Decanter. Aromas of blueberry and blackberry also enrich the play of flavors. Everything is round and in perfect balance, with a fabulous length.This Super Tuscan matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, 70% of which were new barrels. The Merlot was matured in barriques (225 liter barrels), the Sangiovese in tonneaux (500 liter barrels). The blend was then aged for three months in cement tanks.The Mazzei Siepi 2020 is already a real treat. However, it has enormous ageing potential. Suckling writes: "Already ready to drink, but will age gracefully for decades." The makers of Castello di Fonterutoli expect it to age for more than 20 years.Enjoy the Mazzei family's creation with a fine blue cheese. More pleasure is not possible.

The 2020 vintage of Orma Toscana Rosso is another red wine from Tuscany that has been showered with praise by international wine critics. The Super Tuscan from the Sette Ponti winery easily clears the high 90-point hurdle in the wine ratings year after year. For the 2020 vintage of Orma, it received 94 points in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, 97 points from James Suckling and 96 points in Falstaff, among others.The Supertuscan is a blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc. The bouquet of the dark ruby-red Orma is simply fantastically multi-faceted. Monica Larner writes in the Wine Advocate of notes of "wild plum, blackberry jam, dark spices and dried tobacco". Suckling judges: "Tobacco, sage and rosemary come into their own, along with red currants and cassis", while Falstaff chooses these words: "Intense nose with notes of cloves, some mint, fine blackberry, slightly earthy components in the background."On the palate, the Italian red wine from Sette Ponti, located around 65 kilometers south-east of Florence, is dry and incredibly dense and powerful, with masterfully integrated tannins and exceptional roundness. "Full-bodied and yet polished, with a solid and dense mid-palate," is Suckling's verdict and Falstaff's praise: "Spreads out beautifully on the palate, has lots of fine, hearty tannins, beautiful juiciness, crisp fruit and a long finish."After tasting the Orma Toscana Rosso 2020, Monica Larner recommends: "A wine of this depth and magnitude is best served with a classic T-bone cut bistecca alla Fiorentina."If you are lucky enough to be able to open one of the limited-edition Super Tuscans, you should enjoy the Orma 2020 at a drinking temperature of 15 to 18 degrees. Der Geyerhof Stockwerk Zweigelt ist ein Rotwein aus der renommierten Weinregion Kremstal in Österreich. Dornier Pinotage

The Dornier Pinotage comes from the famous Swartland, a wine region about 50 kilometers north of Dornier, which is known for its unique terroirs and strong wines. The vines grow on natural bush vineyards in a soil mix of sand and coffee stone. These dry conditions without irrigation result in small grapes with intensely concentrated aromas and make for particularly characterful wines.This Pinotage is a deep garnet red in the glass. Intense, persistent aromas of cherries and red berries unfold on the nose, finely complemented by notes of Turkish honey and rose water. On the palate, the red wine impresses with powerful concentration and an exciting combination of aromas of plum, bitter cherry, strawberry jam and black pepper. The taste experience is rounded off by subtle, spicy wood notes from the ageing in French oak.The grapes are harvested by hand for vinification. Some of the grapes are not destemmed in order to obtain additional structure. Fermentation takes place in open stainless steel tanks with pumping over four times a day to extract the fruit and tannins optimally. The Pinotage is pressed before complete drying and fermentation is completed in barrel. Malolactic fermentation also takes place in the barrel. The wine then matures for 18 months in French oak barrels, 10% of which are new wood, which further increases the complexity and depth of the wine.Dornier Pinotage is an excellent accompaniment to roasts and game dishes. Spicy dishes such as curries and the South African national dish bobotie also harmonize perfectly with this wine.

Bellevue Pinotage

Bellevue Pinotage comes from one of South Africa's most traditional wine estates. The winery in Stellenbosch planted one of the very first Pinotage vineyards back in 1953 - making it one of the pioneers of this unique grape variety. Pinotage is a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault and is now a true flagship of South African viticulture. The vines grow on different soils, mostly as so-called bush vines, which were planted between 1959 and 1996.The Bellevue Pinotage is fruity and lively in the glass. Aromas of red plum, cherry and raspberry are in the foreground, complemented by a pleasant spiciness and fine roasted aromas from the wooden barrel. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, juicy and elegant, with silky tannins and a harmonious, long-lasting finish. The fresh acidity also makes it particularly versatile with food.The grapes are harvested by hand and briefly cold crushed before fermentation to preserve color and fruit. The red wine then ferments for around four days, with gentle pumping over to extract the tannins and structure in the best possible way. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is matured in American oak barrels made by French coopers - the result is a balanced style with a gentle woody character and plenty of fruit.This Pinotage goes particularly well with roast beef, braised dishes such as oxtail or - for a change of pace - grilled fish such as galjoen, a South African classic. It also cuts a fine figure with strongly seasoned vegetables or mushroom dishes. Best served at 16-18°C, slightly chilled or room temperature.

Muga Torre Muga Rioja DOCa

The Torre Muga Rioja unites notes of ripe, dark fruit, black pepper and mineral nuances in its bouquet, along with notes recalling undergrowth. The complex bouquet is additionally refined with nuances of menthol, rosemary and fine roast aromas, resulting from the ageing in high-quality oak casks.
