After malolactic fermentation in the barrel, it matured for 22 months in French oak (16% of which was new), predominantly in 300-liter barriques - for complexity, elegance and depth.A feminine, structured Merlot that scores with fine aromatics, depth and a long-lasting finish. Its balance between fruit, spice and texture makes it a real treat for Merlot lovers.The noble Amaryllis belladonna - also known as the "March lily" - adorns the label and stands for grace, beauty and strength. A wonderful Margaux seducer that has benefited from 30% new barrels during maturation.A dark garnet red in the glass, the nose is delicately spicy, with dark berries, leading into a cedar bouquet, blackcurrants and some roasted notes. The body of this dry wine is round and deep, with spicy notes lingering on the long finish.Please decant this French red wine at least one hour before drinking! Of course, it can also be aged in the cellar for several years. Johannes Landerer has stood for innovative and high-quality viticulture for several years, and his red wines, white wines and rosé wines leave an impression on connoisseurs.The Landerer Insider Cuvée Rot is a creation of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The latter grape variety in particular shows exceptional qualities in the Kaiserstuhl, the warmest region in Germany with vineyards characterized by volcanic rock.The red wine has a fascinatingly complex aroma of dark fruits such as cherries and blackcurrants. There is also a great spiciness, fine roasted aromas and nuances of nougat chocolate that round off the bouquet.On the palate, this dry red wine from the Kaiserstuhl is powerful and dense, with beautifully integrated, soft tannins and a noticeable spiciness. "A balanced red wine with a Mediterranean style", writes the Landerer winery itself. Lanzerac Le General is a so-called Bordeaux Blend, which would be assigned to the left bank in Bordeaux, i.e. the Médoc region. This style has its origins in the classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Merlot.The grapes for this wine all come from the estate's best vineyards in the Jonkershoek Valley in Stellenbosch. The wine matured for 20 months in 1st and 2nd fill French oak barrels. This full-bodied blend announces vanilla and nutmeg spices before a flood of dark berries, cooked plums and blackcurrants hit the palate. Dark chocolate and a hint of smoke are supported by powerful, soft tannins and an endless finish. This vintage has already reached drinking maturity. Decanting recommended.Enjoy this wine with braised rack of lamb with fennel and orange or with a white chocolate mousse with cherries.

The grapes for Lanzerac Merlot come from vineyards located in the Jonkershoek Valley near Stellenbosch. These vineyards are divided into four different parcels of land with vines that are between 9 and 17 years old, covering an area of 20.31 acres. This terroir consists of deep red, decomposed granite soils and is located between 125 and 400 metres above sea level. After arrival in the cellar, the grapes were selected by hand and destemmed. Before they were gently pressed, the loose grapes underwent a second selection by hand. Subsequently, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks with pumping over twice a day, allowing an optimal extraction of colour and aromas. The Merlot matured for 12 months in second- and third-fill French oak casks. The optimal point of the ripening process was reached by regular racking. This appetizing Lanzerac Merlot has a lot to offer and leaves nothing to be desired. On the nose, it offers concentrated aromas of black fruit, along with sweet notes of vanilla and spicy aromas. The tannins give the wine more complexity, gently underpinning aromas of plums, black cherries, cooked strawberry purée and dark chocolate, finely rounded off by a long, integrated finish. The Lanzerac Merlot goes beautifully with veal chops and portabello mushrooms, gnocchi in a red pepper sauce with crispy pancetta or with a creamy gruyere and parmesan cheese risotto.

Der Le B par Maucaillou 2020 ist der Bordeaux Supérieur vom berühmten Château Maucaillou aus der renommierten Appellation Moulis. Maucaillou heißt übersetzt so viel wie schlechte Steine, was aus dem Kontext der Zeit der Namensgebung des Weinguts darauf hindeutet, dass der Boden aufgrund der dortigen großen Kiesel nicht für eine normale Landwirtschaft taugte. Die Kehrseite der Medaille war aber, dass das Terroir ideal für den Weinbau ist und Maucaillou seither fantastische Rebsäfte produziert, die in großen Jahrgängen, wie 2020, richtige Trouvaillen sind.Le B spiegelt die Frucht seines großen Bruders, dem Grand Vin, wieder und ist ein absoluter gute Laune-Knaller. Selten hat uns ein junger Bordeaux-Wein - mit einem solchen Preis-Leistungsverhältnis - direkt aus der Flasche heraus mit seinem Charme und seiner vollen und frischen Frucht begeistert. Wir hatten fast den Eindruck, einen guten Kalifornier vor uns stehen zu haben, so opulent verführte uns das tiefe Himbeerbukett dieses Weins.Pascal und Magalie Dourthe, die Eigentümer von Château Maucaillou bezeichnen diesen Rebsaft, der zur vollen roten Frucht auch noch schöne Röstnoten, Mokka und Gewürznoten präsentiert, als den perfekten Einstieg in das Universum dieses Weinguts. Dem kann man nur zustimmen.

Am Gaumen volumenreich, von vollem Körper und ganz viel schwarze Früchte. Der Abgang ist kräftig und lang anhaltend.Robert Parker: 92-94/100 Punkte; Jeb Dunnuck: 95/100 Punkte

Dass kleine Brüder aber auch nicht ohne sein können, zeigt der 2015er Petit Haut Lafitte, der aus jüngeren Reben des Gutes gewonnen wird, aber mit der selben Hingabe im Weinkeller hergestellt wird. Der Wein reift für 14 Monate in 20% neuen Eichenfässern, die in der eigenen Küferei gefertigt werden.Der Petit Haut Lafitte 2015 ist von dunkler und intensiv-roter Farbe. Die Nase zeigt einen eleganten Mix aus roten und dunklen Früchten, Kirsche, Himbeere, Johannisbeere und etwas Kräuternoten. Am Gaumen sehr füllig und konzentriert mit schönen, geschliffenen Tanninen. Ein Korb frischer Früchte, Eukalyptus, getrocknete Kräuter und etwas florale Anflüge.Dieser Wein ist derzeit auf der Höhe der Trinkreife, die noch mindestens 5 Jahre andauern kann.Sowohl als Solo-Wein auf der Terrasse ein Genuss, aber auch ausgezeichnet zu Käse, Hackfleisch-Aufläufen oder zu Gegrilltem.James Suckling: 92-93; James Molesworth: 89-92; Wine Spectator: 89-92; Tim Atkin: 92
