The La Bri Merlot impressively demonstrates the sophistication and depth of this grape variety: an expressive red wine that immediately impresses with its aroma of smoked bacon, violets and ripe mulberries. On the palate, it is juicy and velvety with dark chocolate, finely integrated tannins and a lively structure - a Merlot with charm and class.

The wine comes from a selection of the best barrels from three different plots with clay soils. After malolactic fermentation in the barrel, it matured for 22 months in French oak (16% of which was new), predominantly in 300-liter barriques - for complexity, elegance and depth.

A feminine, structured Merlot that scores with fine aromatics, depth and a long-lasting finish. Its balance between fruit, spice and texture makes it a real treat for Merlot lovers.

The noble Amaryllis belladonna - also known as the "March lily" - adorns the label and stands for grace, beauty and strength. It embodies the personality of this wine: elegant, complex and with an element of surprise.

Ideal with braised lamb, mushroom risotto with truffle oil or dark chocolate with sea salt.

Das Boutique-Weingut La Bri liegt eingebettet in das historische Franschhoek-Tal – eine der ältesten und charmantesten Weinregionen Südafrikas. Gegründet im 17. Jahrhundert, verbindet La Bri heute reiche Tradition mit modernem Weinhandwerk. Der Name „La Bri“ stammt vom französischen Wort „l’abri“, was „Zuflucht“ bedeutet – eine Anspielung auf die hugenottische Geschichte der Region.

La Bri steht für charaktervolle, handgefertigte Weine mit unverwechselbarem Ausdruck des Terroirs. Die Reben gedeihen auf sonnenverwöhnten Hanglagen mit fruchtbaren, gut drainierten Böden – ideale Bedingungen für Rebsorten wie Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon sowie Chenin Blanc und Chardonnay. Jede Flasche erzählt von Sorgfalt, Präzision und dem Streben nach Balance und Eleganz.

The Double Door Red Blend combines 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Franc to create a harmonious whole with structure, finesse and elegance.Only grapes from the estate were used for this wine. After fermentation, the individual batches matured for 24 months in used French barriques before being blended into a precisely balanced cuvée. Only 853 bottles of this expressive Cabernet Sauvignon were filled - vinified exclusively in outstanding vintages and from the estate's best vineyard: Block 1, planted in 1999. A real collector's item for lovers of strong, storable red wines from South Africa.The selected grapes were processed gently - after a one-week cold maceration in stainless steel tanks, malolactic fermentation was carried out in barrels. With only 1064 bottles worldwide, this La Bri Syrah "1064" from Franschhoek in South Africa is a real rarity. The wine comes from a single vineyard with particularly low yields and impresses with its aromatic depth, intense spice and remarkable structure. A highly rated Syrah with 94 points in the Platter's Guide - expressive, limited and storable.The grapes for this wine were carefully selected from a single vineyard on the La Bri estate. After a one-week cold maceration, fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation and 24 months of ageing in French oak (partly new) ensure a complex, powerful yet elegant wine.The aroma of La Bri Syrah "1064" is intense and multi-layered. Ripe dark berries, fine dark chocolate, cloves and Mediterranean herbs dominate the bouquet. The grapes come from the Groenekloof region in the Darling wine-growing area. Here the days are warm and the nights cool, so there is a big difference in temperature. This fact and the deep red soil with decomposed granite give the wine a unique blend of dark and red fruit aromas. The red wine is wonderfully concentrated, soft with a juicy tannin structure.On the palate, the Anthonij Rupert Protea Cabernet Sauvignon is round, soft, light and well-balanced.
