Matsu El Picaro 2024

The Matsu El Picaro comes from the wine-growing region of Toro in northwestern Spain. This young wine is a pure varietal Tempranillo, which is known as Tinta de Toro in the Toro region. The grapes are biodynamically cultivated. The wine is an intense purple in the glass. Its bouquet is characterised by persistent aromas of black fruit such as blackberries or bilberries. The mineral notes are wonderfully fresh and complex, surrounded by a light sweetness. Fruit and fullness predominate on the palate as well, resulting from the ripe grapes. Despite its youth, the wine is extremely full-bodied and powerful, due to the ageing in French oak casks and the fact that aggressive filtering and clarification were deliberately avoided.The Matsu El Picaro is vegan and a marvellous delight to enjoy on its own but is also a good accompaniment to moderately hearty dishes.

Matsu El Recio 2022

The Matsu El Recio is a vegan, biodynamically cultivated red wine. The grapes come from vines that are 90 to 100 years old. Fermentation ensued in stainless steel tanks for a period of 3 weeks, while the subsequent malolactic fermentation was carried out in French oak casks. The wine was aged for 14 months in French oak casks as well. This Crianza was not filtered and was gently clarified, resulting in an exceptionally sophisticated and full-bodied wine. The Matsu El Recio offers intense fragrances of chocolate, vanilla and dark fruit. On the palate, the wine is silky and round. The subtle finish is characterised by a special creaminess and mineral, fruity notes. The characteristic power of the Toro wines is combined with a superb softness on the palate.This filigree Matsu El Recio goes beautifully with grilled dishes and hearty stews.

Matsu El Viejo 2022

The Toro region in northwestern Spain is renowned for intense and powerful wines. The Matsu El Viejo is additionally equipped with elegance and finesse, reflecting the flawless artistry of winemaking with the Tempranillo grape, which is known as Tinta de Toro in this region.The Matsu El Viejo, which means ‘the old man’, is a selection of grapes from vineyards that are more than 100 years old. The vines in these low-yield vineyards are biodynamically cultivated. After the fermentation and the subsequent malolactic fermentation, the wine matured for 16 months in French oak casks. The wine was deliberately not filtered, thus preserving its full aroma structure. The Matsu El Viejo is a deep cherry-red in the glass with purple glints on the rim. It has a wonderfully intense bouquet of black fruit. Due to the ageing in casks, the Matsu El Viejo shows roast aromas and notes of smoke and spices that are wonderfully structured and integrated. On the palate, the wine is fleshy, ripe and round. The noticeable but fine tannins give the El Viejo a light sweetness. The finish is once again characterised by the harmony between fruit and wood aromas.The Matsu El Viejo is a typical accompaniment to meals, and stands up well to hearty sauces and intensely flavoured grilled dishes. We recommend trying this amazing wine with blue cheeses.

Matsu La Jefa 2022

The Matsu La Jefa is a white wine aged in wood from the D.O. Toro in Spain. Matsu comes from the Japanese and means "to wait". And indeed, the philosophy of the makers of this white wine from 100-year-old vineyards is to leave nature as untouched as possible and to act with patience and restraint when making the wine.The Matsu La Jefa smells of vanilla and ripe stone fruit, with nuances of aniseed and a subtle sweetness. On the palate, this creation made from the Castilian grape variety Malvasi'a and smaller proportions of other white grape varieties is velvety and full, with a lovely creaminess. There is also a fine play of acidity and sweetish nuances. This Spanish white wine is wonderfully balanced, with a beautiful texture and impressive complexity.The Matsu La Jefa matured for 16 months in French oak barrels (600 liters). Menade Nossa Tempranillo Low sulphite 2023

The Menade Nossa Tempranillo is a unique, biodynamically produced red wine from Castilla y León, made by the prestigious Bodega Menade. This wine follows the philosophy of natural viticulture, without the addition of sulphur or artificial intervention - an authentic expression of the grape variety and the terroir. The grapes come from old vineyards in Castilla y León, where the vines grow on barren, chalky soils. Menade's winegrowers consistently focus on sustainable and organic cultivation in order to preserve the natural vitality of the soil.After manual harvesting, around 20% of the grapes are processed as whole bunches, while the rest are destemmed and gently pressed. Spontaneous fermentation takes place with wild yeasts in small stainless steel tanks. The wine then rests for several months, without fining or filtration, before being bottled unfiltered.The Nossa de Menade Natural Tempranillo has a deep ruby red color with violet reflections in the glass. The bouquet is intense and multi-layered, with aromas of ripe red berries, black cherries and plums, accompanied by subtle notes of violets, tobacco and a hint of Mediterranean herbs.On the palate, this red wine is wonderfully lively with a perfect balance of juicy fruit, fine tannins and a fresh acidity that gives it elegance and structure. The finish is long, smooth and shows a fine minerality.This Tempranillo is an excellent accompaniment to grilled lamb, spicy tapas or mature Manchego cheese. It is also an excellent choice with mushroom dishes or vegetarian stews. Menade Nosso Verdejo Sulfitarm 2024

Der Menade Nosso Verdejo Sulfitarm ist ein authentischer und unverfälschter Weißwein aus der angesehenen Weinregion Castilla y León. Er wird von der angesehenen Bodega Menade produziert, die sich für nachhaltigen Weinbau und eine möglichst naturbelassene Vinifikation einsetzt. Dieser Verdejo ist ein wahres Spiegelbild seines Terroirs – rein, unverfälscht und frei von Schwefelzusatz. Die Verdejo-Trauben für diesen besonderen Wein stammen aus alten, biologisch bewirtschafteten Weinbergen in Castilla y León, die auf kalk- und kieshaltigen Böden gedeihen. Die Weinberge befinden sich auf über 700 Metern Höhe, was für kühle Nächte sorgt und die Frische der Trauben bewahrt.Die Lese erfolgt per Hand in den frühen Morgenstunden, um die Aromen bestmöglich zu erhalten. Der Most wird mit wilden Hefen spontan vergoren, wobei vollständig auf die Zugabe von Schwefel oder andere Zusätze verzichtet wird. Akribisch gelesene Tinto Fino- und Merlot-Trauben von verschiedenen Lagen der Bodegas y Viñedos Montecastro, auf denen die Reben zum Teil mehr als 100 Jahre alt sind. 18-monatiger Barriqueausbau in hochwertigem französischen und amerikanischen Eichenholz: Der Montecastro Reserva Ribera del Duero bringt alles mit für einen spanischen Rotwein der Kategorie „Ausnahmeerscheinung“. Seit vielen Jahren kreiert die Bodegas y Viñedos Montecastro im Norden Spaniens exzellente Rotweine, zu denen zweifellos auch der Montecastro Reserva zählt.Im Glas ein tiefdunkles, fast undurchdringliches Rot mit violettem Schimmer. Der Tinto Fino (90%) duftet faszinierend vielschichtig nach frischen Früchten wie Blaubeeren, schwarzen Kirschen und Himbeeren sowie Pflaumen. Auch Nuancen von Zitrusfrüchten bereichern das Bouquet. Montecastro Ribera del Duero DO 2021

Die Komposition aus 90% Tinto Fino sowie zu je 5% Cabernet Sauvignon und Merlot ist ein weiteres kleines Meisterwerk der Bodegas y Viñedos Montecastro. Schon der Duft des Montecastro Ribera del Duero 2018 hinterlässt bei Weinliebhaberinnen und Weinliebhabern Eindruck. Der spanische Rotwein vereint in seinem Bouquet Noten von Waldbeeren, Pflaumen und Kirschen. Dazu kommen harmonische Noten von Lakritz und Eukalyptus sowie eine schöne mediterrane Würze (Thymian, Salbei) und Anklänge von Espresso und Schokolade.Am Gaumen ist der rubinrote Montecastro Ribera del Duero 2018 trocken, seidig und weich. Der Tinto Fino besitzt eine große Frische, die perfekt mit den samtigen, gekonnt integrierten Tanninen harmoniert. Komplexität und Finesse sind bei diesem Rotwein aus dem Norden Spaniens in perfekter Balance, auch die Ausgewogenheit von Fruchtigkeit, Mineralität, Säure- und Tanningehalt ist außergewöhnlich. Das Finale klingt noch lange nach.Genießen Sie den Montecastro Ribera del Duero 2018 bei einer Trinktemperatur von 16 bis 18 Grad. Der Rotwein reifte für 3 Monate im Betontank und anschließend 16 Monate in französischen Eichenfässern. Noch bis 2032 ein echter Hochgenuss.
