Stellenrust Secrets & Lies Chenin Blanc

The Stellenrust Secrets & Lies Chenin Blanc is an expressive white wine from South Africa that impressively underlines the versatility of the Chenin Blanc grape. The Stellenrust wine estate, located in the renowned Stellenbosch wine region, is known for its high-quality, terroir-driven wines.

The grapes for this Chenin Blanc come from vines that are over 40 years old and grow on granite soils. After harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed and the must is partly fermented in used French oak barrels. Maturation on the fine lees gives the wine creaminess and complexity while retaining its fresh fruit.

In the glass, the Stellenrust Secrets & Lies Chenin Blanc is a light golden yellow with slightly greenish reflections. The nose is characterized by intense aromas of ripe pears, yellow apple and quince, accompanied by fine floral and subtly spicy notes. On the palate, it is lively and juicy with a harmonious balance between freshness, fruitiness and a subtle mineral structure. The finish is long and elegant with a fine hint of honey and vanilla.

Stellenrust Secrets & Lies Chenin Blanc is an excellent accompaniment to grilled fish, seafood, creamy pasta dishes or aromatic cheeses. It is also a delight on its own and impressively demonstrates the elegance and complexity of South African Chenin Blanc wines.

Stellenrust Corner Stone Pinotage
The Stellenrust Cornerstone Pinotage comes from the winery's so-called Super Premium Range and thus represents the second highest level of quality. A wine that is given a lot of attention.South Africa is known for its large proportion of Pinotage wines, which is why it is a challenge to vinify a particularly good Pinotage. Dr. Tertius Boshoff, winemaker and owner of Stellenrust, therefore places extreme importance on the selection of grapes and their processing. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are pressed for around 36 hours and then fermented in stainless steel tanks. Maturation takes place in French oak barrels over a period of around 20 months. On the nose, the Stellenrust Cornerstone Pinotage has an aroma of blueberries and raspberries, with notes of ripe peach and black cherry. On the palate, the wine is juicy and full-bodied, delicate and warm with subtle oak tones. The stable acidity makes the finish fresh and slightly sweet and sour. This red wine is an excellent accompaniment to spicy cuisine, such as Thai dishes with lots of curry or chili con carne.

Stellenrust Sauvignon Blanc
A wonderful Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa from the Stellenrust winery. Many things come together here to give this white wine from the Western Cape region its exceptional quality. The grapes for the Stellenrust Sauvignon Blanc come from bush vines that are around 40 years old. In addition, the grapes are harvested in three stages, depending on the degree of ripeness. One third is harvested at 74° Oechsle. These grapes give the white wine greener, fresher notes. The second and third third are harvested at 82° and 92° Oechsle respectively. They give the Sauvignon Blanc its tropical aromas. The three harvests are fermented separately.Accordingly, the Stellenrust Sauvignon Blanc has a great bouquet that is both fruity and herbaceous. Notes of elderflower as well as pineapple, guava, passion fruit and grapefruit characterize the bouquet. It also has crisp, green aromas. On the palate, this Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa has a crisp acidity with a mineral core. Fresh, zesty and balanced. With a good body and good length.
