The Stellenrust Stell Pinotage Shiraz from the Western Cape combines the fruity cherry notes and gentle spiciness of Pinotage grapes with the dark fruit and density of Shiraz grapes, refined with a small amount of Cinsault for added elegance. After a short cold maceration, the grapes mature on their skins for a few days before the red wine acquires its harmonious fullness and fine spiciness in used French oak.

The nose reveals lively raspberry aromas with a hint of black pepper, while the red wine is soft, round and accessible on the palate, with elegant tannins and a long, velvety finish.

The Stellenrust Stell Pinotage Shiraz is ideal with medium to full-bodied dishes such as grilled lamb, wild boar goulash or roasted mushrooms - served at 16-18 °C, it develops its full fruitiness and aromatic depth.

Beyerskloof Diesel Pinotage

Diesel Pinotage is certainly an unusual name for a wine. However, it quickly becomes clear when you know the story behind it. Diesel was the name of Beyers Truters, owner of Beyerskloof, dog and a beloved and loyal, constant companion of his master. The dog was not only to be found in the vineyard, but also in the cellar or next to the desk. So it was clear for Beyers Truter to name his best wine after his "best" friend.The grapes for the Beyerskloof Diesel Pinotage come from bushvine vines. This type of cultivation is frequently used in South Africa, especially for Pinotage. The fermentation process took place over 5 days in open barrels at an average temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. The mash was pressed down every 2 hours. Malolactic fermentation then took place in stainless steel tanks. New French oak barrels were used for the 21-month maturation. Of the 300 barrels filled, only 20 barrels were ultimately selected for the Diesel Pinotage.The color of the Beyerskloof Diesel Pinotage is deep purple. The bouquet is characterized by complex blackberry aromas and dark fruits, surrounded by an elegant cedar wood note. The palate reveals a fine but complex structure of black and red fruits. A truly great red wine that impresses with an excellent balance of fruit and wood. A wine with outstanding potential that will continue to give pleasure in 10 years or more.The ideal accompaniment to spicy Indian dishes or a well-matured rump steak. Der Stellenrust Cornerstone Pinotage stammt aus der sogenannten Super Premium Range des Weingutes und stellt somit die zweithöchste Stufe der Qualitätsebenen dar. Ein Wein dem viel Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt wird.Südafrika ist bekannt für seinen großen Anteil an Pinotage Weinen, da ist es eine Herausforderung einen besonders guten Pinotage zu vinifizieren. Dr. Tertius Boshoff, Winemaker und Besitzer von Stellenrust, legt deshalb extremen Wert auf die Auswahl der Trauben und deren Verarbeitung. Nach der händischen Ernte werden die Trauben ca. 36 Stunden gepresst und dann in Edelstahltanks vergoren. Die Reifung findet in französischen Eichenfässern über einen Zeitraum von ungefähr 20 Monaten statt.In der Nase zeigt der Stellenrust Cornerstone Pinotage ein Aroma von Blau,- und Himbeeren, dazu kommen Noten von reifem Pfirsich und schwarzer Kirsche. Am Gaumen ist der Wein saftig und mit vollem Körper, delikat und warm mit subtilen Eichentönen.
