Ein wunderbarer Sauvignon Blanc aus Südafrika vom Weingut Stellenrust. Hier spielt vieles zusammen, was dem Weißwein aus der Western Cape-Region seine außergewöhnliche Qualität verleiht.

So stammen die Trauben für den Stellenrust Sauvignon Blanc von etwa 40 Jahre alten Buschreben. Darüber hinaus werden die Trauben in drei Durchgängen gelesen, abhängig vom Reifegrad. Ein Drittel wird bei 74° Oechsle gelesen. Diese Trauben verleihen dem Weißwein grünere, frischere Noten. Das zweite und dritte Drittel werden bei 82° bzw. 92° Oechsle gepflückt. Sie geben dem Sauvignon Blanc seine tropischen Aromen. Die drei Ernten werden separat fermentiert.

Entsprechend bietet der Stellenrust Sauvignon Blanc ein tolles Bukett, das zugleich fruchtig und kräuterwürzig ist. Noten von Holunderblüte, aber auch von Ananas, Guave, Passionsfrucht und Grapefruit prägen das Bukett. Dazu knackig-grüne Aromen.

Am Gaumen bietet der Sauvignon Blanc aus Südafrika eine knackige Säure, mit mineralischem Kern. Frisch, pikant und ausgewogen. Mit gutem Körper und guter Länge. Das Finale ist geprägt von schmackhaften Johannisbeer-Aromen.

Lanzerac Sauvignon Blanc

The Lanzerac Sauvignon Blanc consists of grapes that come from two different vineyards. One of the vineyards is already 19 years old and located 450 metres above sea level. The grapes from these vines give the wine its complexity. The vines that grow in the second vineyard are only 4 years old, giving the wine its freshness. In order to protect the grapes from heat stress, the harvest was carried out early in the morning. After repeated selection in the cellar, the grapes were pressed at a temperature of approximately 57.2 °F. The must remained in contact with the skin for about 6 hours. Subsequently, the wine was fermented at a temperature of 53.6 to 57.2 °F for a period of 10 days. On the nose, the Lanzerac Sauvignon Blanc offers various aromas such as notes of green apple, Asian fruit, pears, white peach and lemon grass. It is soft and creamy on the palate, showing an intense minerality and a surprisingly long finish.Thanks to its vivid acidity, the Lanzerac Sauvignon Blanc goes beautifully with goat’s cheese and seafood salads.
