An unusual composition: in the Haute Cabrière Arnim Family Reserve, the Haute Cabrière wine estate combines the Syrah (Shiraz) and Pinot Noir grape varieties. The result is a red wine from South Africa that has a lot to offer. Intense notes of red fruits (ripe cherries, cassis) on the nose, plus blueberries and a fine spice and barrique note (cedar wood). On the palate, this blend from the Franschhoek Valley is wonderfully balanced, with soft tannins and a stimulating freshness and length.The Haute Cabrière Arnim Family Reserve matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, 10 percent of which were new barrels.In 1982, Achim von Arnim took over the traditional wine estate in the French-influenced Franschhoek Valley, which was founded in 1694. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness and primary aromas.
