The fruit for Sandstone Merlot comes from a gently sloping formation of hills running along the southeastern corner of the famous Livermore Valley. The Wente family’s hillside Merlot vineyards deliver fully ripened fruit with exceptional depth of character.

With a smooth mouthfeel and inviting tannins, this Merlot exhibits flavors of strawberry, cherry, blackberry
and fig with hints of toast, brown sugar and spice, with a long luscious finish.

Each varietal was harvested separately and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine was pumped over twice daily to increases the color and tannin extractions and improves mouthfeel through the integration of oxygen. Aged for 20 months in French and American neutral oak.

Enjoy this wine for grilling, with a chicken menu or with cheese.

The morning coastal fog pushed by the Pacific winds to the vineyards of the traditional winery, lets mature the Chardonnay grapes very consistently. So wonderfully balanced wines develop with a beautiful minerality and acidity.The Wente Morning Fog Chardonnay is a blend of Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer. On the nose it offers invigorating aromas of apples and tropical fruits, which are wonderfully complemented by flavors of vanilla and toast. On the palate, full-bodied and with nice acidity.The fresh, crisp white wine was aged for five months to 50% in American oak and to 50% in stainless steel tanks to emphasize the natural fruit flavors. Der trockene Rotwein aus den USA verführt mit süßer, dunkelwürziger Beerenfrucht, feinen Röstnoten und einem Hauch von Vanille. Vollreife Trauben, die lange Fassreife und das seidige Tannin verleihen ihm die runde, samtweiche Fülle, die den Wein wunderschön zugänglich macht.Die Trauben wurden während der warmen Tagesstunden gelesen, um eine rasche Gärung auszulösen, danach gemahlen und 7-8 Tage lang vergoren. The Rungg Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon is supplemented by the Cabernet Franc grape variety, giving the wine a light spice. The grapes for the Rungg from the Cantina Tramin estate come from terroirs located south of the village of Tramin. The vines grow on hilly vineyards situated about 300 metres above sea level. The soils consist of gravelly subsoils, while the topsoil contains clay and lime. The terroir gives the wine a pleasant tannin structure and elegance. To underscore the aromas, aging was carried out in barriques and larger wooden casks. The Rungg is a garnet-red in colour and has an intense bouquet of cherries, currants and dried fruit. The wine is wonderfully round on the palate, offering chocolate and light roast aromas, with a powerful, long-lasting finish. Due to its full body, the Cantina Tramin Rungg Merlot-Cabernet goes beautifully with game, roasts or ripe cheeses.
