Salentein Primus Malbec 2022

Am Gaumen ist dieser reinsortige Malbec üppig und zugleich elegant, mit einer tollen Komplexität. Süßliche Tannine, typisch für Malbec, eine gute Struktur und große Balance ergeben ein perfektes Zusammenspiel. Die große Frische, seine beerige und kräuterige Aromentiefe sowie die angenehme Mineralität machen den Salentein Primus Malbec zu einem Geschmackserlebnis. Das Finale klingt lange nach. Auch James Suckling hat der Jahrgang 2018 überzeugt, er vergibt 92 Punkte. Dieser in limitierter Auflage kreierte Rotwein wird nur in Jahren produziert, in denen die Qualität der Trauben den Ansprüchen genügt, die mit einem Primus Malbec verbunden sind. Der Rotwein reifte für 18 Monate in französischen Eichenfässern, im Anschluss 12 Monate in der Flasche in den Kellern des Weingutes. Wir empfehlen, diesen Malbec aus dem Uco-Tal in der Mendoza-Region 30 bis 60 Minuten vor dem Trinkgenuss zu dekantieren. Die ideale Trinktemperatur liegt bei 16 Grad. Der tief violett-rote Wein ist ein toller Begleiter zu rotem Fleisch, kräftigem Käse sowie Gerichten, bei denen Saucen mit Zwiebeln oder mit schwarzem Pfeffer gereicht werden.Den Salentein Primus Malbec können Sie problemlos für 10 Jahre lagern.

Seña Eduardo Chadwick 2020

Seña is an icon of viticulture in South America. The Chilean red wine has fascinated international wine critics for many years. In Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Luis Gutiérrez has never awarded the Seña less than 96 points since 2015. James Suckling even awarded 100 points in 2015 and 2018 for the noble red wine, which has been backed by Eduardo Chadwick and Robert Mondavi, two greats of the wine world, since 1995. The 2020 Seña vintage is also outstanding. The creation from the Aconcagua Valley was awarded 97 points by Gutiérrez and 98 by Suckling.The bouquet of the blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Malbec, 15% Carmenere and 7% Petit Verdot is impressively complex. Notes of raspberries and cherries form the intensely fruity basis. The Creative Block 5 from Stellenbosch (Paarl) presents a deep red color with a youthful ruby rim. Layers of fruit aromas of blackberries, black cherries, blackcurrants, dark chocolate and fennel notes.Balanced on the palate, with flavors of berries and oak infused with spicy notes of cinnamon and cloves. Some notes of cedar oak lead to a finish of refined but present tannins. The grapes were harvested by hand, pre-cooled, destemmed and individually sorted.Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks for up to 21 days. The Spier Creative Block 8 from the traditional Spier winery is an expressive cuvée from South Africa that combines eight grape varieties in perfect harmony: Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Cinsaut, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The grapes come from vineyards in the Coastal Region, which grow on weathered slate and granite with a loamy subsoil. These soils store water optimally and, together with the cooling influence of the nearby Atlantic, ensure slow maturation and a high concentration of aromas.In the glass, the wine is a deep ruby red with a youthful glow. Intense aromas of black cherries, blackberries, dark chocolate and fine vanilla unfold on the nose. On the palate, it is dense and soft, characterized by juicy wild berries and a hint of dried cranberries. The structure is balanced, the mouthfeel silky and the finish long, with a fine, dry tannin.Vinification is carried out with the utmost care: each grape variety is harvested by hand, fermented separately and aged for 16 months in 300-liter French oak barrels (30% new wood, 40% second passage, 30% third passage). After careful selection and blending, the cuvée matures for a further 2 months to complete its harmony.The Spier Creative Block 8 is a versatile food companion and goes perfectly with Moroccan-spiced, braised lamb shank with root vegetables and a hint of truffle oil or with moussaka with roasted coriander. This red wine is best enjoyed at a drinking temperature of 16-18 °C.

Der Steenberg Catharina ist ein Bordeaux Blend, wobei die Stilistik an die Weine des rechten Ufers der Gironde erinnern. Kein Wunder, ist dieser Rotwein doch Merlot dominiert. Die Rebsorten wurden jeweils einzeln vergoren und für 18 Monate in neuen und gebrauchten Eichenfässern gereift. Danach gemischt und für weitere 6 Monate im Holz gereift. Entstanden ist ein subtiler, verführerischer Wein.Der Steenberg Catharina Red Blend zeigt in der Nase eine Fülle an dunklen Kirschen, Zigarre, Kaffee, Vanille, Preiselbeeren und Bitterschokolade. Vielschichtig geht es auch am Gaumen zu; hier präsentieren sich konzentrierte Fruchtaromen von Himbeere und Johannisbeere. Rund und mit viel Tiefe und eingeschlossen von einer samtigen Textur kommt im Abgang seine tolle Frische zum Ausdruck.Der Catharina Red Blend von Steenberg ergänzt als Essensbegleiter dunkles Fleisch mit kräftiger Sauce ganz hervorragend.

Steenberg Five Lives Red Blend 2021

Eine Hommage an die Gründerin von Steenberg, Catharina Ras. Five Lives symbolisiert ihre Lebensgeschichte, die in fünf Kapiteln beschrieben werden kann. Eine Frau, die Ihren Mut nutzte, sich anzupassen und jeder neuen Herausforderung fern von Ihrer Heimat Lübeck trotzte.Die Weinberge für den südafrikanischen Steenberg Five Lives Red Blend liegen auf altem Granit in der Region Westkap. Merlot und Cabernet Sauvignon werden in Edelstahltanks vinifiziert. Vor der Gärung werden 10-15 % des Saftes von den Schalen entfernt, um den Körper und die Fülle zu verbessern. Beide Sorten werden 14 Tage lang getrennt auf den Schalen vergoren. Zweimal am Tag wird abgepumpt, um Farbe und Tannin zu extrahieren. Nach der Gärung werden sie getrennt in kleine französische Eichenfässer umgefüllt. Die malolaktische Gärung findet im Fass statt und der Wein reift 20 Monate lang. Anschließend wird der Wein verschnitten und vor der Abfüllung leicht geklärt.Im Glas zeigt sich der Rotwein in einer intensiven dunkelroten Farbe mit einem helleren Granatrot am Rand. Die Nase umspielen Aromen von Schwarzer Johannisbeere, Cassis, Noten von Erde, Basilikum und Pflaume. Der Wein ist mittelkräftig bis vollmundig und zeigt eine seidige Textur und Tiefe sowie eine elegante Tanninstruktur. Noch lange nach dem letzten Schluck prägen den Gaumen pikantes Pesto aus sonnengetrockneten Tomaten, Tabakgewürz, Kirsche und Zimt.
