The Paserene Rosie from the Paserene winery comes from the famous Western Cape, one of the best wine regions in South Africa. This lively rosé combines a balanced cuvée of Mourvèdre, Syrah and Malbec and delights with fresh aromas of red fruits such as strawberries, pomegranate and watermelon, rounded off with fine citrus notes and a subtle sweetness of cotton candy.During production, the grapes are gently pressed to obtain a delicate salmon pink color. Temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks preserves the freshness and purity of the aromas. The wine then matures for a year and spends a further four months in the bottle, which gives it additional depth and elegance.On the palate, Paserene Rosie has a silky texture, lively acidity and a long, fruity finish. Plaisir de Merle Estate Red 2022

A red wine from South Africa that is simply fun and a perfect companion for carefree hours: the Plaisir de Merle Estate Red is a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc. The blend matured for around one and a half years in French (70%) and American (30%) oak.The result is a small feast for the senses: Petit Plaisir smells of ripe cherries, blackberries, dark plums and blackcurrants. There are also nuances of raspberry, dark chocolate and vanilla.On the palate, this South African ruby red wine from the Paarl region is dry, aromatic and wonderfully smooth, with firm, velvety tannins. The finish is lingering, with a pleasant aftertaste of ripe plums.Enjoy this creation from the Plaisir de Merle winery at a drinking temperature of 16 to 18 degrees. The blend is a fantastic accompaniment to a gently cooked beef steak with herb butter.

Plaisir de Siaurac 2022

Ohne Zweifel wird man feststellen müssen, dass das Château Siaurac einer der Stars der Appellation Lalande de Pomerol ist, gelegen in direkter Nachbarschaft zur bekannten Appellation Pomerol. Seit 1832 im Besitz der Familie Guichard ist dieses wunderschöne Anwesen nicht nur eine bauliche Ikone, sondern auch die Weine sind ständig im Aufwind, und das bei noch sehr moderater Preisgestaltung.Der Plaisir de Siaurac ist der Zweitwein des Châteaus in Frankreich, das seit dem Jahr 2016 ausschließlich biologische und biodynamische Anbautechniken einsetzt. Der 2022er Plaisir de Siaurac ist für uns eine der Entdeckungen dieses wundervollen Jahrganges, der eine echte Alternative zu wesentlich teureren Pomerols darstellt. Er setzt sich zusammen aus 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc und 5% Malbec. Die Betonung liegt dabei auf seiner schönen Frucht, verbunden mit sehr feinen und geschliffenen Tanninen. Dies liegt auch an den idealen Wetterbedingungen, bei dem die warmen Tage und kühlen Nächte dazu beitrugen, dass die Tannine samtig ausfielen und den Rotwein balancieren, aber nicht dominieren.Mit wie viel Liebe zum Detail der Plaisir de Siaurac 2022 bereitet wurde, zeigt sich auch daran, dass im Juni ein individueller Laubrückschnitt je nach Bedarf der Parzellen vorgenommen wurde, um jeder Lage gerecht zu werden.Wir empfehlen, den 2022er Plaisir de Siaurac etwa 1 Stunde vor dem Genuss zu dekantieren. Er wird noch mindestens 5 Jahre seine Genussreife halten und überzeugt sowohl als fruchtiger Sommerbegleiter, als auch als food-pairing mit rotem Fleisch, Gegrilltem und einem guten Steak.

100 Punkte für den Promontory 2018 vergeben James Suckling und Antonio Galloni. Suckling erkennt im Bouquet Noten von Veilchen und Heidelbeeren mit Nelken und Tannenzapfen, Galloni schreibt von dunklen Früchten, Kies, Gewürzen, Lakritz und Leder.Am Gaumen ist der tief granat-lila farbene Wein trocken, mit mittlerem bis vollem Körper. Er „zeigt feste, exquisit feinkörnige Tannine und eine nahtlose Frische, die die intensiven, knackigen schwarzen Früchte wunderbar umrahmen und klingt lang und mineralisch aus“ (Perroti-Brown). Suckling schreibt von „straffen, nahtlosen Tanninen, wie fein geschliffene Diamanten. Er ist am Ende sehr geschlossen und zurückhaltend. Schwerelos. Braucht viel Zeit zum Öffnen. Ein einzigartiger Wein“. Galloni: „Ein Wein von Größe und Opulenz, der im Jahrgang 2018 jeden Winkel des Gaumens erreicht. Betörende Aromatik und präzise, geschliffene Tannine – so schwer zu erreichen in einem Wein aus Höhenlagen – runden das Ganze stilvoll ab.“Bill Harlan entdeckte die herausragende Lage, auf der die Trauben für den Promontory reifen, in den frühen 1980er-Jahren. Im Seitental des Napa Valley, geprägt von Hunderten Hektar Wald, baut Harlan auf 30 Hektar vor allen Dingen Cabernet Sauvignon an, dazu etwas Cabernet Franc, Malbec und Petit Verdot. Die Höhenlage und vor allen Dingen die außergewöhnliche Komplexität der Böden (wozu auch Schiefer-Gestein gehört) machen den Promontory zu einem einzigartigen Wein.Dass die Macherinnen und Macher des Promontory beim Ausbau dieses „Bordeaux-Blend“ aus den USA wesentlich auf Großholz von Stockinger aus Österreich setzen, macht das Ganze endgültig zu einer Ausnahme-Kreation. Seit 2009, dem ersten auf den Markt gebrachten Jahrgang, gab es in Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate für den Promontory im Grunde immer Bewertungen von 97 oder mehr Punkten (einzige Ausnahme: 2011 mit 94+). Der Promontory 2016 erhielt die magischen 100 Punkte.

The Rainbow's End Mystical Corner is an expressive red wine cuvée from the Rainbows End Wine Estate family winery in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Vinified with great care and composed of four classic Bordeaux grape varieties - Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec - this wine brings the depth and complexity of the terroir to the glass in perfect harmony.The dark soul of the wine is already evident on the nose: aromas of blackcurrant and dark cherries combine with a hint of damp earth - a fragrance reminiscent of cool forest moss and mineral soils. Raka Barrel Select Malbec 2022

This Raka Malbec from South Africa's Klein River Valley delights with an expressive interplay of aromas: The nose reveals intense notes of plums, blackberries and cassis, underpinned by a subtle hint of smoke. The dark fruits are reflected on the palate - the juicy plums provide jammy tannins, which are perfectly balanced by well-integrated oak and an elegant structure. The finish is long, spicy and harmonious.The grapes for this red wine were harvested by hand in the Klein River Ward and carefully sorted directly in the vineyard. A second berry selection was carried out in the cellar before the must was fermented with pure yeasts. During the five-day mash fermentation, the juice was pumped over the skins several times a day and punched down by hand. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was separated from the yeast and transferred to a resting tank. This was followed by malolactic fermentation and a short resting phase before the wine matured in French oak barrels (225 liters, 25% of which were new) for 12 to 14 months.The Raka Malbec is an ideal accompaniment to grilled beef, spicy braised dishes or mature hard cheese. The recommended drinking temperature is 16-18 °C to allow the complex aromas to develop optimally.

Raka Figurehead 2023

The Raka Figurehead seduces with a multi-layered bouquet of dark fruits such as plum, mulberry and blackcurrant, complemented by earthy notes from the forest floor and a fresh hint of eucalyptus. On the palate, the wine is juicy and full-bodied, supported by aromas of red and black fruits, elegant wood notes and a fine spiciness that lingers on the long finish.This complex cuvée is made from a careful selection of fine grape varieties from the renowned Klein River Ward wine-growing region in South Africa. The grapes were all harvested by hand to ensure the highest quality.In the wine cellar, the grapes were carefully sorted and fermented with pure yeasts. Maceration lasted five days, during which the must was pumped over the skins 3-5 times a day and the cap was punched down to maximize depth of colour and aromatics. After alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation took place, followed by a short resting phase. The red wine then matured for 12 to 14 months in 225-liter French oak barrels before being blended, bottled and labeled.Raka Figurehead is an excellent accompaniment to hearty dishes such as roast beef, lamb and game, as well as mature hard cheeses and mushroom dishes. For an optimal taste experience, we recommend a drinking temperature of 16-18 °C.

The Raka Quinary is an impressive South African red wine cuvée with multiple international awards.
