Delheim Iconoclast Versed Vines 2024

The Delheim Iconoclast Versed Vines is an exceptional white cuvée made from Delheim's oldest vineyard blocks in the Simonsberg, Stellenbosch. This Old Vine blend combines Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Muscat de Frontignan, Sauvignon Blanc and Colombar, whose vines were planted between 1984 and 1988 and, as part of the Certified Old Vine Project (OVP), have special expressiveness and terroir character. The vineyards are located on southwest-facing slopes with Oakleaf soils of decomposed granite. The cool climate of the Simonsberg, influenced by Atlantic breezes, ensures slow, even ripening and intense aromas. The grapes were hand-picked in the early hours of the morning and pressed whole to ensure maximum purity. Natural fermentation took place in French oak barrels (15% new wood), after which the wine matured for nine months on the fine lees, giving it depth, texture and complexity. The final cuvée was produced in a small, experimental batch that brings out the potential of old vines and terroir to the full.In the glass, the Delheim Iconoclast Versed Vines shows aromas of white peach and ripe pear, complemented by the delicate, floral Muscat perfume. On the palate, freshness is combined with elegance and a long, harmonious finish on a fresh citrus note. This white wine is ideal with meaty fish or subtly spiced dishes with chicken or pork. Serve at 8-10 °C to enjoy the fine fruit and elegant structure to the full.Only five barrels were produced - an exclusive wine for collectors and connoisseurs. Careful storage allows for slow maturation and drinking maturity of 8-10 years.93 points, Tim Atkin SA Wine Report 20254.5* stars, Platter's Guide 2026 (September 2025)

The Moordenaarskloof Chenin Blanc comes from a unique vineyard on the Keerweerder estate, on the slopes of the Stellenbosch Mountains. This small but versatile parcel is characterized by three different soil types, which give the wine remarkable complexity and depth. Fairview La Beryl Blanc 2024

The Fairview La Beryl Blanc is an artisanal sweet wine made from Chenin Blanc and Muscat Blanc. The grapes come from the Fairview vineyard’s finest plots and grow on weathered granite soils, which impart freshness and mineral notes. The grapes were harvested by hand and then laid out in small crates on straw mats, where they dried naturally over several weeks. This process concentrated the sugars and aromas. After drying, the grapes were pressed and the must was slowly fermented in stainless steel tanks. An extended maceration period adds extra texture, while the fermentation, which lasts for months, contributes to the wine’s complexity and balance. On the nose, La Beryl Blanc reveals intense aromas of ripe peach, apricot, honey, and honeysuckle. On the palate, sweet citrus and stone fruit notes unfold, supported by natural sweetness and lively acidity. The texture is soft and luxurious, while the long, refreshing finish precisely balances the sweetness.La Beryl Blanc pairs excellently with classic desserts such as crème brûlée, baked cheesecake, or fruit tarts. Creamy cheeses, especially Fairview’s own Camembert, as well as salted nuts or spicy Asian desserts, also offer interesting pairings.
